Sweet Release

An eternal kiss of darkness blurs the colors of the sky,
I brush my fingers against my scarlet lips to feel his touch.
My body aches for his embrace and yet makes me want to die,
The flame of passion ignites within my breast and craves such
Sweet release…
My soul slices open and calls out for my angel of the night,
The wind pushes back his hair, as he moves swiftly through the trees.
I conjure thee, return to me, hold me close, and cloak me from light.
Shadows hide the truth of our sin and let us give in to the ecstasy
Of sweet release…
Does your absence make me forget or convince me to give up on fate?
No, there is too much beauty to quit and a glimmer can never be gone.
Quiet hopes for a better life are quelled, as I continue to wait.
The bends in the road cannot stop me from pressing on
To find my sweet release
