The Virus
On July 22, 2013 a pathogen was making its way to the Pentagon in Virginia. At the Pentagon, a team of scientists were there waiting to take the pathogen and study it. The pathogen was placed in a crate in a pickup truck coming down route 23. It was a variation of the bronchitis strain mixed with influenza with a pinch of nuclear radiation. The pathogen was made in New Mexico and was now en route to the Pentagon.
The pickup truck was passing through Pennsylvania. It was driven by a man who was down on his luck. The government would pay him a lot of money to get the pathogen to Arlington.
The man was approaching Lookout Point overlooking Rosewood, Pennsylvania when a deer ran in front of the truck. The man swerved to avoid it and ran onto the shoulder. He tried to get back on the road but overcorrected. The truck swerved right and then left. The truck driver in a state of panic gave the wheel a sharp twist and the truck flipped. The truck rolled over and over and hit the railing on Lookout Point. It fell down 25 feet and hit the forest floor. The truck driver died on impact. The vial holding the pathogen broke when the truck hit. Immediately the virus had become airborne. It quickly spread out over Rosewood.
2 days later
The virus was no longer in the air. It was in the bodies of its 1735 victims. The victims were suffering from a runny nose, a sore throat, and a lot of coughing. 4 of the virus's victims were coughing up a storm.
Aria Montgomery coughed as she was going to school. She was a few yards away from the school when the coughing overtook her. She felt like she was fighting for air. She was trying to catch a breath when a series of coughs brought her to her knees. She coughed and coughed. She then was trying to breath for air. After a long cough session she took one final deep breath and fell on the concrete. She slipped into unconsciousness.
Emily Fields coughed in her first period class. She was a few questions into the test she was taking when she started coughing. Mr. Fitz the teacher asked her if she was okay. She was too busy coughing to answer. She then dropped to her knees coughing. All the kids in her classroom rose to their feet to help her. Somebody called for CPR, others called 911. While all of them were running around like chickens with their head cut off, Emily dropped to the floor and slipped into unconsciousness.
Spencer Hastings coughed as she stood in her kitchen. She was preparing to go to school. She slept late and got up with a headache. As she picked up her purse, she was dropped to the ground by a powerful cough. She coughed and coughed. She thought she never would stop coughing. She stopped coughing and took a deep breath. She shook her head and started walking out the door. She closed and locked the door and was walking to her car when she started coughing again. She coughed and coughed. She fought to get to her car door. She almost got there when she fell to the ground. She coughed and coughed. She then slipped into unconsciousness.
Hanna Marin was sick in bed when she started coughing. She coughed and coughed. She called for her mother then remembered she was in jail. Hanna tried to get out of bed but fell back. She coughed and coughed. Hanna gasped and yelled out. She was fighting to breathe as one cough after another escaped her mouth. She gasped and struggled and then her head fell back on the pillow. She slipped into unconsciousness.
And so with that, Darkness fell on Rosewood, Darkness fell on the Pretty Little Liars.
