A Stormy Night
Summary: There's a thunderstorm raging in Mystic Falls and Delena gets scared, so she goes to Stefan for comfort.
Chapter 1
The howling of the wind blew through the dark sky as occasional flashes of light lit up the darkness in a golden streak of gold. Loud booming could be heard from miles and tree branches rattled against windows. A small figure laid covered up under the covers, scared of the monster that was right outside. Soft cries could be heard as she hugged her damp teddy bear to her, scared and wanting her daddy.
She nearly jumped out of her skin as her door creaked open, revealing a muscular figure with a dark pair of emerald green eyes, staring at the lump of covers in the middle of the bed. "Delena?" His voice broke through the terrifying storm that had whirled through Mystic Falls, threatening to do some minor damage. Although it was nothing compared to the damage and damage the town already faced.
In an instant, he was by her side of the bed, bending down and taking the crying child into his arms, hugging her tightly against his chest as he rocked her gently. "Shh it's ok midget. I'm here. Uncle Steffy's here now. It's alright it's just a storm." He walked quickly back to his room, laying Delena under the sheets and pulling the comforter around her, kissing her head gently as he held her against him, humming softly.
Delena looked up at Stefan, feeling the vibration in his chest as he hummed to her. "Steffy?"
Her weak voice caught Stefan's attention immediately and he stopped humming, casting his eyes downward to look at her. "Mm?"
"Wis storm gwonna gwet mwe?" Turquoise blue eyes beamed up at him, waiting for an answer.
Stefan stared at Delena for a full second before his face grew serious. "Midget, now you listen to me. As long as I'm here, nothing and I mean absolutely nothing can hurt you. Vampire, human, or even a storm cannot touch you as long as I'm holding you close to me. Never forget that."
Delena nodded, a smile appearing on her face as she snuggled closer to his chest, listening as Stefan resumed his humming, luring her into a deep sleep, knowing that as long as her uncle was with her, she would always be safe.
