Just to let you know:

I haven't actually played Rune Factory, I just watch my younger sisters. From the introductions of Danny and Erik respectively though... they just seem destined. So, this was inspired by a moment I watched when Raguna came into Danny's shop and he was messing around in the shelves. I thought "wow, that totally looks like he's pretending to be humped" and I wrote this.

Service

Raguna slowed in the threshold of Danny's store, blithe smile morphing into a confused frown. It was not rare to be greeted by a swaying backside upon entering the shop; its lackadaisical keeper was known to pass his time listlessly rearranging his meager stock, but the scene confronting Raguna had a distinctly alien edge to the familiar motions. An edge that made him slightly uncomfortable.

He stared, letting the door slowly rotate closed on its own accord, watching Danny shake his slight form with his arms braced on the top shelf. Beneath the elegant blond curls crowing his forehead, his eyes were lightly shut and his lips were moving sporadically, mouthing words Raguna could not discern. The rhythmic rolling and shimmying encouraged a rosy flush to tint the hero's nose and cheeks, as he began to feel like he was intruding on a scene of intimacy. Was the some sort of dancing? Or a strange exercise routine? Maybe an odd traditional custom from Uzuki's native country to ward off storms or bring good harvest or curse your business enemies? But really, if Raguna was completely honest with himself, it looked like Danny was -

"Oh!"

Raguna glanced rapidly up from the shopkeeper's rear to his face at the exclamation.

Danny turned fully, smiling as usual, and continued, "You came to buy some seeds, right?" He cocked his head to the side with customary cheer that faded slightly as he noted the embarrassed expression on his customer's face.

Raguna quickly averted his eyes, rocking on his heels slowly as he exhaled and tried to act as if nothing remotely akin to the spectacle he'd just witnessed could even possibly occur.

Danny blinked at this strange behavior, dismissed it quickly, and recited with typical half-hearted salesmanship, "Take a look! Anything you like!"

"Yeah, uhh," Raguna stepped up to the counter, new strategy to get out as fast as possible, and glanced over the somehow still dusty and always limited selection. "Corn seeds, yes," he requested with an obviously put on casual coolness that was lost on the seemingly oblivious shopkeeper.

Danny followed Raguna's pointing finger to the ordered item and blinked again before focusing on his customer. "Yeah, help yourself," he shrugged.

"Uhh," frantically, the younger man called Danny's wavering attention back and asked with very transparently forced composure, "could you get it for me?"

The blond looked once again from the counter to the shelf and back. He reached up with a one shoulder shrug and handed the seeds over in exchange for gold. "Thanks! Come again," he called in slight bewilderment as Raguna bolted for the door at top speed.

A partly gloved hand raised in farewell before the hero vanished, wondering as he examined the package, what exactly went on at the shop shelves these days.

Danny, for his part, gazed mildly at the door, blinked, and resumed his organization work. As his thoughts slipped back to those of a particular farmer his hips began to sway and shake and he smiled tightly at a recent memory of much more amusing tasks he'd performed at the self same shelves.
