It was raining harshly over Konoha, but only one person stands in the middle of it, knees weak, seems like the figure is about to fall, and it did, it stumbled on its knees and cried, the figure was Kurenai, crying over the death of her once beloved. Then another figure went near her, Kurenai didn't notice this because the rain was covering him, and when it went nearer to her, and it was none other than Kakashi Hatake, the constantly late man, the great Copy nin and carrier of the Sharingan, but all in all, he was still a man with feelings, ones he kept locked up because of the pain he experienced back then. Kakashi put his hand on Kurenai's shoulder, and Kurenai lifted her head and saw him.
"Kakashi...what are you doing here?" Kurenai said between her sobs
"I heard you were out here when I visited Anko's house when you weren't at yours" he replied "No need to be so sad, everyone dies...even I know that" he added, shedding one tear
"Come on, we have to take cover for a while 'til the rain clears up" he said, so Kurenai stood up and went with him under a big tree. Kurenai was shivering and hugged Kakashi for warmth, which caused both of them to blush. A few moments later, she let go, still blushing
"Um...sorry..about that" she said
"Uh..it's ok"
There was a long silence that came over, until Kakashi spoke up
"Kurenai, what were you doing in the rain like that? You could've gotten a cold" he said with concern
"I was just so sad since Asuma died"
"Oh...I know what that feels like"
"What do you mean?"
"Well, the only reason I was late all the time is because I always visit the memorial stone before going training with my team"
"Why?"
"Because...all those who were close to me are...dead" those words shocked Kurenai, Kakashi always kept intact with his emotions, but today she came to understand him
As the moments of silence passed once again, the hard rain turned into a gentle drizzle, but still lasted long
"Well, not everyone close to you is dead" she said, breaking the gentle silence
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"Well, you have your team, you have the other ninja, and-"
"I have you" he cut her off finishing her sentence, causing her to blush more than before "I always knew this saying, but only now do I believe in it, the saying is: There's a rainbow always after the rain" he added. Then Kurenai knew what he meant, so it was she who lowered his mask and saw his fully exposed face, tracing his jawline with her finger, but before she finished, Kakashi leaned in and kissed her deeply, and Kurenai kissed back. As they were kissing, the rain finally started to clear up and a rainbow appeared over the field.
