The Dance

They stood there for what seemed like years, but it was only about 5 minutes. Spencer and Ashley looked so peaceful on the dance floor. So delicate as well, because they knew this moment wouldn't literally last forever. They wanted it to, very badly; and they would try.

Friends, family – well, most family – and even a few strangers watched as the two held each other and swayed with the music. What a Wonderful World was softly sung, setting a mood that melted everyone's hearts into one giant puddle.

From Spencer's perspective, the low lights were just enough to illuminate Ashley. Her light blue orbs could not gaze away from the almost haloing affect around the other girl.

"I love you," she barely whispered. A smile crept across both faces.

"I love you too," the brunette stroked Spencer's soft, wavy locks. They felt like silky strands of beauty. "I love you and I always will."

Ashley saw how much this whole thing meant to Spencer. Not the ceremony, or the party, but this moment. This dance, between the both of them, was more special than anything they've done before. It amazed her how much good the blonde girl can find in one tiny thing.

"Or one person," Ashley thought aloud. Spencer's look changed from a smile of pure joy, to a look of utter confusion. Not missing a beat, Ashley pulled Spencer in for a kiss, assuring her that what ever it was, they would never need to worry. Not as long as they were together.
