The Perfect Man

Oneshot

He was getting dressed in his work uniform, thinking with dread about pushing himself to ask if his Love wanted to accompany him to his job. Kevin wanted him there, he wanted Edd to be closer to him. There wasn't a day nor a moment that Kevin wanted to be apart from his best friend.

Even when they were together he yearned and craved to hold him. He always craved so much more. But, he knew he was a little too over-bearing for Edd. And that hurt, but Kevin truly Loved him - many would say too much. So, for the ravenette, he controlled himself.. Giving the man he dreamed of almost every night his desired space.

Working up enough nerve, he walked over to Edd who was finishing up the chore of drying the dishes in their kitchen sink and bit the bullet.

"Edd, do you want to go to work with me tonight," the green-eyed redhead asked, hope shining in the top of his eyes. He looked as though he was about to break.

Double D gave him a quick glance before he stacked the freshly spotless dishes and stuck the stack of designer fine china in the see-through cabinet.

"If that's what you'd like," he stated as Kevin looked like he was about to cry. He was trying so hard to mask his feelings.. Edd knew why he was asking. His boyfriend Loved him more than he could ever hope to.

He looked as though he was about to break as he asked, "Do you want to come with me to my job so you can be close to me?" who knows how much he was holding back.

Kevin looked like he was going to cry, "If you want me to," Edd stated while bound from hurting him and reluctant to tell him going would be a bother to her. Obviously, he didn't want to tell him that her going with him was in any way an annoyance. He knew him and knew he'd hurt.

He forced himself to speak, holding back his pain.. Tears over flowed from his grey eyes, he knew she didn't Love him that much. He knew she didn't want to be around him, "I'm asking if you want to."

"Yes, of course." he said, hiding the dishonesty in her tone.

Kevin's jaw clenched. It hurt so bad.

The Perfect Man knew he didn't want to.. But, he knew he was willing.. So, he took him anyway. Just to have him around.

That night Kevin didn't cry at his job and every time he'd look at her while he sat at that table, reading on her phone.. His presence unknown to him, he couldn't help but smile.

The plethora of thoughts he had of taking her home when he got off work and holding him in their bed kept him from crying the whole eight hours he worked that night.
