A/N: This is my first Haunted Mansion fic, and I hope everyone likes it! As you can see, I watch way too many decorating shows. Please r&r!
(George Gracey is seen standing in the front hall. The camera zooms in on his face.)
"Hello, my name is George Gracey, and welcome to 'Age Old Beauty'. Today on 'Age Old Beauty', we're going to show you how to transform your unused space into drop-dead gorgeous party rooms!
"First off, let's go to the ballroom and check out what designer Victoria Boufont has done to transform a plain room into a spooktacular space! Come on!"
(George walks through Mansion until he reaches the ballroom, where Victoria Boufont stands.)
"Hey, Victoria, why don't you tell us a little bit about what you've done in here!"
"I'd be glad to, George! So, as you can see, we've set the feel in here with dim lighting. Here's a tip for adding visual interest to your lighting with little to no cost:"
(Camera pans up to chandelier.)
"Replacing light bulbs with candles is not only energy efficient, it will also add drama to the room with the flickering glow. Try draping some cobwebs around it, and avoid dusting. Dust will add a lot to the feel around the room."
(Camera pans back to Victoria, then pans over to the dining room set.)
"Also, furniture is a key aspect in any space. Try looking at thrift stores and garage sales for inexpensive antique furniture. Can't find what you're looking for? Try this distressing technique for an aged look on newer furniture:"
(Clip of Victoria out in the graveyard with a dining room chair is rolled.)
"Now, what I'm going to do sand down the finish on this piece a bit, which gives it a duller look. Then I'm going to take this sledge hammer, and just bang it up a bit:"
(Victoria proceeds to beating the pulp out of the chair with the hammer.)
"And in a matter of minutes, you've created a one of a kind antique dining chair!"
(Victoria holds up the mangled chair as it cuts back to the ballroom.)
"And last but not least, accessories. Accessories are the key to any space! What we've done in here is placed a few old candelabras on the table for a more high-end effect, but also, we've placed objects like books and mirrors all around the room to offer visual interest and give a cohesive look. Dead plants can help tie the room together, and old portraits like the ones we have here fill up empty wall space."
(Camera focuses on George)
"Thank you so much, Victoria, for all of your tips and tricks! I hope we've inspired you to create your own spooky party space. I'm your ghost host, George Gracey, and this has been 'Age Old Beauty'. See you next time."
