Sam leaned her head against the cold stone wall. She tried to wet her lips but her tongue was just as dry. She felt slightly lightheaded, but could not remember why.

"What I wouldn't give for a cold glass of milk right now," She thought out loud.

"Don't think about it Carter…that only makes it worse," replied the Colonel's voice. She could tell he was fairly close, but she could not motivate herself to look up and discover exactly where he was.

"Think about what sir?" Her words were slurred from exhaustion.

"Thirst," He replied curtly, sounding equally tired.

"Oh, I see," She replied. Truthfully she did not 'see'. Maybe she would have if she had not been too tired to care.

"Why did you say milk?" Jack asked abruptly.

"What sir?" She turned her head slightly and saw him sitting against the wall a little ways from her. Just beyond him was Daniel, lying on the ground asleep. She assumed Teal'c must have been somewhere at her other side.

"Why milk?"

"Why not? I'm thirsty," Sam replied simply.

"Most people say 'water' when they're thirst…not milk," The Colonel remarked.

"Some cultures it would be more common to ask for wine because the water is unsafe to drink," Daniel said without moving.

"Is he sleep-lecturing?" Jack asked confusedly. Sam merely shrugged.

"What is 'wine' Daniel Jackson?" Teal'c asked suddenly. The archeologist turned over, and sat up. He looked pale and tired.

"You know what wine is Teal'c. The Gou'ald have a beverage like it called um…"

"I have not heard of this 'um' substance," Teal'c replied seriously.

"No it's not called 'um' I just can't think of the name…" Daniel said rubbing his head in frustration.

"Sir I think Daniel's ill," Sam said as she crawled over to the archeologist. She placed her hand on his forehead to check for temperature.

"Why do you say that Carter?" Jack asked getting annoyed with all of them, and the whole situation in general.

"He forgot a word," She stated firmly.

"I'm fine," Daniel replied batting away her hand. "It's just been way to long since I've had a cup of coffee." Three pairs of eyes were on him now.

"Wow…he really does run on caffeine!" Jack said in amusement.

"Shut up," Daniel growled.

"Decaffeinated Daniel is cranky," Sam noted. Daniel glared at her and lay back down. Silence consumed the room once more.

"Daniel," Jack said suddenly.

"Ya," came the grumpy reply.

"Is there beer in other cultures?" The colonel asked his perplexing question. Daniel sat up again and stared blankly at the man who was his friend until waking him up for that.

"What?"

"I was just wondering."

"No it's fairly unique to ours," Daniel replied his informative side taking over his crankiness.

"Oh," Jack replied. "You know I remember once at a high school dance I put alcohol in the fruit punch." Three pairs of eyes were now turned on the colonel.

"Sam?"

"Yes Daniel?"

"We are never…ever…ever…ever drinking alien water again. Ok?"

"I do not believe that it was water Daniel Jackson," Teal'c replied.

"I remember one time when I was five…" Jack began when he was suddenly interrupted by a strange noise from above.

"Colonel O'Neill?" Feretti stuck his head through a hole that had just been made above from them. "We're here to save you."

"Oh thank God," Daniel said all too seriously.
