I met a poor cook in the castle who was in dire need of help. Seems the poor fellow needed to make a cake for the Duke but did not have an egg, milk, or flour! I was new to this strange land, but wanted to help. Perhaps if I did, I could dine with the Duke! The cook gave me instructions, but I wandered around the land because I did not remember who to speak to and where to find them.
I came upon a goblin. While he seemed nice, I hit him. We fought. I worried that I would not have the strength to defeat that goblin. Oh, no...another goblin behind me. I sure hope I beat this one so he leaves. Wow, what a fight. I am glad I won. The goblin left something on the ground. I examine it to find a pile of coins and some bones. I leave the bones, but take the coins.
As I wander, I find a shop. Upon entering I learn I can purchase a bucket and other supplies. I will need the bucket for the milk and a pot for the flour, so I leave with my supplies. As I cross the bridge, I find a chicken. Following him, I notice he lays an egg, one of the items I need! Then I notice some cows in a nearby field. I go in, but wait! Why are they killing the cows? I need milk!
Soon enough I learn that I need to milk only specific cows. As I attempt to milk the cow, I forget to use my bucket first and make a mess! My second attempt yields success as I leave with a bucket of milk. Now to try to find that mill.
Wandering back across the river, I eventually find the wheat field, and hear the noise of the windmill. I pick some wheat and take it to the mill. Upon learning what I need to do, I climb the ladder, place the wheat in the hopper and pull the levers. I climb back down the ladder and see my flour. I place it in the pot and hurry back to the cook. I hope it is not too late and he doesn't lose his job!
He's very happy to see me with the ingredients for the cake. I saved his job. I asked if I got to eat with the Duke, but he laughed and told me no. I told him one day I would be important enough to do so, but he doubted that. I WILL be that important...wait and see!
I earned one quest point and 300 cooking experience points. Not bad for a noob who is going to show that cook!
