How cruel and despicable could people be?

N cried as the latest Pokémon to be brought to him was covered in scratches and refused to be touched.

In fact it was struggling to get out of Ghetsis' hold, despite how soft that grip was.

"N, don't you see? This is what happens when Pokémon are with humans."

He never forgot.

Soon N learned to stop crying. He saw the hurt Pokémon and he tended to it. He spent hours making sure they were fine, and then kept them in his room to make sure they were actually fine and ready to go back into the world. They loved him, but he was told he had to release them.

And their faces were so sad once they left the castle, he honestly couldn't bare it. It got to the point that he had to look away for he would cry again.

And crying wasn't something he was allowed to do.

Regardless he still did it.

Eventually Ghetsis came to him, and said "We're liberating Pokemon from people." And N couldn't have agreed more.

But at the same time, he was confused. He loved the Pokemon, the Pokemon loved him. Why release them?

Yet what Ghetsis said was law. So he took this as truth. After all, he's only seen hurt Pokemon.

The only emotion he felt with Pokemon was sadness.

Soon Team Plasma was a thing. And he was king of this new team. A team whose purpose was to liberate Pokemon from people.

Ghetsis was the leader, of course. And N… Was fine with this. But he was still confused. Regardless, he still actually believed their ideas. So he never kept his Pokemon for more than he needed. Because they were upset when they were with trainers.

And N didn't want to upset Pokemon. They didn't deserve it.

And then N met you. And your Pokemon wanted to stay with you.

And then N's world fell apart, slowly.

What was the truth? Where was he wrong?
