llll The Art of Kissing llll
The movie rewinded in the VCR. Luke and Lorelai sat quietly on her couch waiting for it to finish.
"That was a good movie."
"It was," Luke agreed.
Lorelai turned to him. "What was your favorite part?"
"I don't know. It was good. Leave it at that."
Lorelai looked up thoughtfully. "You know what I look for in movies?" Luke shook his head, no. "The kiss."
That caught him by surprise, but she still looked at him so he tried to not let it show. "Really?"
"Mm hm. In romantic movies like the one we just watched, the kiss is a big part of the movie."
"What do you mean?"
She got more comfortable. "The actor, sometimes they're reluctant to really kiss, and it shows. At least to me, it does."
"A kiss is a kiss. It gets the same point across."
"That is so not true. If I'm watching a movie where there's a great build-up for two characters getting together, and they don't make me believe the kiss, it can ruin the entire movie."
"How can they ruin it?"
"By keeping it lippy when it shouldn't be."
Luke looked at her confused. "Lippy?"
"Yeah, lippy."
"That was me asking for clarification. I heard you."
She smiled. "Okay, um, like I would give you a lippy kiss."
"You would give me a lippy kiss, but you don't care to see one in a movie? Thanks."
"I would give you one because we're friends. It's not insulting."
"Sure." He turned to look at the blue screen.
She moved closer to him. "Trust me, it's not." She turned his head gently and pressed her lips against his. After several seconds, she pulled away. Her eyes slowly opened. "See," she said quietly.
Luke could barely speak. "And what's wrong with a kiss like that?" He asked.
"Nothing. It's just not how you kiss somebody when there's a lot of attraction there. That's where some actors mess up."
He looked into her face, which was still close. "And when there's a lot of attraction...?"
"There's tongue."
Luke felt like he could faint. "Tongue?"
"Yeah, tongue." She slowly moved toward him and kissed him again. Their mouthes opened and their tongues came together. They separated after a minute. "Like that," Lorelai whispered.
"Big difference."
"Yeah." She moved closer. "And when there's a deep, deep attraction, there's kissing with full body contact."
"I think I need a demonstration."
Lorelai smiled. "Okay." She climbed on top of his lap and pressed him into the back of the couch as they kissed with intensity. Her hands gripped the back of the couch as she circled her hips. After an even longer time, they separated again.
She started to talk with barely any breath left. "And, when there's a..."
"Let's just go ahead and cover all bases," Luke interrupted. She smiled widely.
He grasped her head as he kissed her deep.
