A/N- What is it about the C's that make them so tough? I mean, we saw Chris for about 20 seconds, I hate Christopher's guts, and I really don't care about Colin... Gah! Oh well, fun ones coming up soon!
Katrinka
Anywhere else, she would have been worth a second look, but probably not a third. But apparently things were just a little different in Holland, because he spotted her on the street and he was hooked. Following her to Amsterdam was perhaps just a little extreme, but it made for a fantastic summer, complete with daily rounds of marathon sex. As far as Colin was concerned, it was the highlight of his life.
For some insane reason, he went back Stateside for school, and she immediately lost her appeal upon touching down in the Hartford airport. He tried to get rid of her. He dropped hints, in broken Dutch, that maybe she would like to go back to be with her family. But apparently there was some kind of sibling rivalry with her sisters. She just wouldn't leave!
For two years she stuck around. He put her up in an apartment and dropped in on her when he was feeling the old itch and couldn't find an intoxicated freshman drama major to scratch it. She started picking up English, as a consequence of residence. Sometimes when he visited, they didn't even have sex. They just talked in a bizarre mixture of English and Dutch.
The visits became more frequent. He wasn't sure why. He would get restless and walk out the door of his apartment with the intention of finding a Scotch to settle him down, and somehow wound up at her apartment instead of the pub. Every time, as he rang the bell, he vowed it was the last time. And every time, by the time he left, his restlessness had faded and he was disinclined to leave at all.
And three years after they met, Colin Brewster married Katrinka VanZuiden. Standing at the altar, he had no idea how the hell this had happened.
