The Sun Never Sets

Geldoblame stood in the center of his new bedroom, alone.

Daylight flagged at the edges of his feet, glinting on the gentle waters of the pool before sliding back to his large window, catching on the glass and disappearing into the dusk beyond. The sun left his face, turning the golden locks into wiry coils, crumpling his skin, allowing his once dainty chin to burgeon outward.

He gazed out the window, unable to see the changes of his body or the fading light of the spacious room. All he could see was the sun—completely pure for one moment—vanish.

A/N: Even though this drabble is about the beginning of the darkest period of Emperor Geldoblame's life, I gave it a title of hope. To us, when the sun sets it looks like it's disappearing forever. But the truth is we have moved and will find the sun again in the morning. There's hope for Geldoblame... He just needs to make it through the night.

This drabble is for crackedkatana, who's helped me realize how complex a character Emperor Geldoblame really is. Thanks, Katana. Happy Birthday!
