So I imagined a conversation between Jake and Nessie when she is 17 years old and almost stoped aging.
"Jake?" I asked on a low voice.
"Yep?" he answered sleeply.
"I – I want to ask you something. Something important. It's something I've been avoiding to ask you for so long, but I feel like it's time now."
"Ask me, Ness."
"It's just that it's very hard. I don't know how to begin…"
He came closer and kissed my forehead. "Is it bad?"
"Kind of. I'm afraid you'll get sad."
"I want to know what's on your mind, honey. Ask me."
"Ok. So, you see, I've almost stoped aging. And I'll be like this forever. And – and I won't die." I stoped.
"I fail in finding the question here, Ness", he said confused.
"It's just that… Oh, Jake, how long will we be together?" My voice trembled with tears.
"What do you mean? 'S not like I'm gonna die tomorrow or something."
"Not tomorrow, but someday… And what will I do then? They won't let me follow you, but I don't know how to live without you. My life woulnd't have any sense without you around."
He took my hand and kissed it softly.
"Is that what you're worrying about?" I could almost feel the smile in his voice.
"This isn't funny, Jacob Black!" I touched his face, thinking… He was my true and only love… My whole world revolved around him. What will happen to me when he will be gone? How will I be able to live for eternity without the reason of my existence?
"Of course it isn't. Sorry", he said, playing with a curl from my hair. "But it's just that I thought you've already find out by now. Because I was expecting this question a while ago, and since it never came, I supposed they told you."
"Tell me what?"
"Honey, I can't get old as long as I'm still phasing. And I can't stop phasing as long as I live in a house full of vampires. As much as I accept and get along with this vampires, they are still the reason why I am what I am."
"Oh, Jake!" I threw myself into his arms and kissed him softly on the lips. "Seriously?"
"Do I ever lie to you?" He rolled his eyes, and then kissed me again.
I chuckled. "I love you."
"I love you too, silly", he laughed. "Now get to sleep, it's late."
I lied next to him and put my head on his chest, listening to his heart. He pulled me closer.
"Forever", he finally answered to my question.
"Do you promise?"
"Yes. Forever. Always."
I smiled and closed my eyes. This was my definition of heaven.
