Notes: I seem stalled on my "epic" piece (yes, in my world of drabbles anything over 1000 words is epic), but this popped into my head.
"Jimmy, riddle me this…" House asks of his friend, while shuffling through the food line in the cafeteria.
Wilson waited.
"What do you do when you want someone, but know you can't have them?"
"Learn to live without them," Wilson shrugged. Thinking of his ex wives. Maybe of Stacy. "Do anything to keep them?" Maybe even Cameron.
House weighed the responses, all the while piling extra food on Wilson's tray – a sandwich, fries. All under the bemused smile of the oncologist.
Finally, House shook his head. He knew the answer. "Make them your friend," and he hobbled to their table.
