Chapter 1

"Go away." The silence in the room echoed. The blond boy did not move an inch, his body frozen in its position. An arm reaching for his companion one foot in front of the other his body paralyzed during the act of crossing the room.

"What." The word was a statement. Tamaki was well aware that Kyouya was in no way playing around with him. His words were final. There would be no charming his way out of this situation. In the end he would have to do as Kyouya asked, just like always.

"Leave now. I will not say it again." The tone was harsh unlike his usually accommodating self. Tamaki knew he could not take back what he said but he sorely wished he could return to the previous hour and just leave, leave and come back in the morning and start over. He wished he could wake up in bed with the knowledge this was just a dream, a stupid childish nightmare that under the blaring sun he could laugh away.

"I am sorry I did not mean to offend you. I just…" He harshly shook his head. It was an immature thing to wish for and an irresponsible thing to actually vocalize. Tamaki backed out of the room and closed the door as quietly as possible. Tears dripped down his face as he stumbled out of the mansion and onto the sidewalk. His driver tried to get his attention but he just waved him away. He couldn't possibly return to his home looking as disheveled as he did. He needed to pull himself together, he was being stupid, and he knew this would happen. He was incapable of capturing a girl with his charm how could he possibly expect Kyouya to fall for an idiot like him.

Tamaki whimpered softly when he tripped over his own two feet and landed halfway on the street. His trousers were in need of a pick me up; there were rips at the knees and dirt ground into the hem. Not having any energy to bother getting up he sat on the curb not paying attention when the cars drove feet from him making his blond hair whip around his reddened face.

He could practically hear the laughter after Tamaki had left that room. He could see Kyouya's head thrown back in mirth at how ridiculous his friend could be and how juvenile his 'love' was. Thunder rolled over his head and he nearly laughed himself at the cliché timing. The rain was soon in coming and within ten minutes the cars that had whipped his hair around were splashing him with muddy water from the roadway. In a vague part of his mind he remembered that Haruhi was frightened of these storms but he couldn't bring himself to care. His heart and head hurt and he couldn't even force himself to move out of the freezing water let alone attempt to find the girl.

Tamaki reached for his phone but stopped himself; the only person he would want to call was Kyouya so why bother the poor boy when he was obviously not interested in Tamaki. So he sat there and waited, for what he couldn't say, he waited while the water made his uniform sodden, while his hair became plastered to his head, while his shivering started and slowly stopped. He waited until he couldn't feel his body and his head felt light. He waited until he collapsed into the road. He waited while the dark swallowed the world, while headlights blared down on him from afar, and while they got closer. He waited until he heard he heard someone scream his name and then he waited no longer.
