"I wonder…" Yako whispered, not meaning to say anything out loud.

It had been an unusually slow day but she was still compelled to stay at the office, whether it was the comfort of not being alone in such a big house or the wooden planks nailed over the door, she wasn't quit sure.

"What Dishrag?" Neuro asked, not taking his gaze off his menu, the computer screen.

"Ah!" Yako rubbed the back of her head," It's nothing I just…"

She thought how to describe it, the nursery rhyme.

Neuro finally looked away from the screen, trying to understand his dishrags not so sudden stroke of dumbness.

"Well it was just something I had come across while searching for mysteries."

His eyebrow rose slightly.

"Have you ever heard of Lizzie Borden?" Yako asked softly.

She knew he'd never admit to not knowing something so she didn't wait for an answer.

Lizzie Borden took an axe

"August 4, 1892, Only Lizzie Borden, her parents, and the family maid were home at the time."

And gave her mother forty whacks

"The step-mother of Lizzie Borden had taken 18 or 19 blows by a hatchet; it was obvious that who had killed her was very angry at the woman."

When she saw what she had done

"While Lizzie was being tended to by neighbors, the body of Abby Borden was found upstairs in the guest bedroom. "

She gave her father forty-one

"Her father was found slumped over a couch, his head turned slightly to the right, giving of the feeling that he had been peacefully sleeping. He only received 11 blows but they not only crushed his skull but split his left eyeball." Yako emphasized the brutality of it by opening her eye real wide with her fingers.

"It's a very old case in America so I'm not surprised you haven't heard about it."

"We'll the mystery has been solved and the woman went to prison so I see no reason to ponder over it." Neuro cut in, returning to his menu.

"You're wrong; actually she was acquitted for the murder. Partly because they couldn't prove that the hatchet that was found in the basement was the murder weapon and that another ax murder was going around at the time, though he wasn't even in the country at the time."

Yako yelled the last bit, looking towards Neuro hoping to get something out of him, but alas, twas all for not.

"It's a really eerie nursery rhyme. It sends chills down my spine when I hear little girls chanting it." Yako looked down slightly in remembrance.

"Many of the nursery rhymes you have are sung to the children of Hell do to their graphic nature, Bridges collapsing little boys and girls falling down steep hills. My favorite has always been Rock-a-bye Baby." Neuro noted, walking towards Yako.

"Why?", Yako asked, looking unimpressed , "Because little babies fall from trees."

He flicked her nose softly, a small yelp arising from the young woman.

"It has not always included that verse. Something about it was just like a breath of fresh air, reminds me of something." Neuro whispered.

They both turned their heads to the side to see their baby girl swaying softly in her cradle. A small smile appeared on Yako's face, they would be singing many more nursery rhymes in the future.

Author's Note

I'm going on a much needed vacation so I thought I'd get my entry in for crystalgardian's nursery rhyme challenge in early.

I thought a mystery rhyme suited Neuro

Forgive me if the small fluff at the end made your stomach ache.
