Courage came in many forms yet Detective Nick Burckhardt couldn't do the one thing that would unify his topsy turvey world.
The young man knew why every time he stepped through the door of his home.
It was corny, but home was home.
Even after the ogre attack it was still a sanctuary; because of Juliette.
Nick knew without the light and love Juliette brought into the house it wouldn't be his haven against the darkness.
Against the evil he fought every day.
Selfish as it was Nick needed that peace and love like he needed air.
That was why he hadn't taken Monroe's advice.
Why he hadn't listened to his aunt.
Nick needed that normalcy that Juliette represented if only for a little while longer.
One day evil would invade and hopefully he and Juliette would weather that storm together.
