Prologue
Note: This is my first fan fiction. I don't know a lot about vocaloids, or if there is any actual pairings. This is just my take on them. If I mess anything up let me know . Read and Review! Peace out!
The red glare of the exit sign taunted Gumi as she sat in the audition chair. Her heart was pounding and her leg was bouncing up and down nervously. Today was the one day a year that a new pop singer would be chosen. Then, they would be added into the group called Vocaloids. It had been a dream of Gumi's to be a part of them when she heard Gakupo's wonderful voice. People always told her she had potential, but was potential enough?
Several other singers had come and gone. Some left with smiling happy faces and others in tears. Gumi was the last one to go and waiting all day had given her plenty of time to think negatively. She had managed to convince herself that the judges behind the door were aliens and they stole the voice of every person auditioning. She also conspired that the vocaloids were robots with fake voices and feelings. Gumi laughed at herself. Now she's just being ridiculous.
"Megpoid Gumi, please," a simple lady gripping a clipboard appeared. It was time.
Gumi rose from her seat and strolled inside. Her walk was completely straight and confident for how scared she was. That disappeared when she saw what was behind the door. The audition room was nothing more than white walls and a glass mirror like a science lab. The judges were behind the glass, but Gumi couldn't see them. That made her even more convinced they were evil.
A computerized voice told her to sing, and Gumi began her song. Her selection was the piece 'Hello, how are you'. Her voice bounced along the walls and reflected back at her. She cringed at how nervous and terrible she sounded, but that didn't stop her. Determined to finish strong, she ended her audition and awaited the results. Minute, by minute, by minute ticked by with no stirring.
"Please hold still," The robot voice said. Gumi gasped as a glass cylinder dropped around her. Then she screamed as a white gas filled her lungs. She couldn't see anything, and her vision was failing. Terrified, she pounded the glass but her strength failed and she dropped into a deep sleep.
That's it for the prologue. Let me know if you have any ideas to make it better! Arigatou!
