Naruto sat thinking about the day before. Nothing but training, training, and more training. Jerk Kakashi! Naruto thought. He pulled out a blade of grass nearby and tossed it to the side.
The wind blew lightly. He sighed. All alone. Nothing here but a tree and a beautiful view of the mountain with the Hokages' faces. Boring.
Footsteps nearby drew Narutos' attention. He turned to see Sasuke coming this way.
Oh man...
"Oi, dobe." Sasuke called out.
"Arrgh! Don't call me that!" Naruto yelled.
"Hn. What are you doing out here all alone in the middle of the day?"
"None of your business jerk." Naruto growled. Inside he was really here to feel less alone, but what would Sasuke care?
Sasuke sat under the tree next to Naruto. Naruto noticed that Sasuke had sat a little close.
A little too close.
He looked at Sasuke, who was enjoying the sweet scent of the air.
"What do you want Sasuke?" Naruto spoke, unsure of what to say really when Sasuke neared his face.
"To be..."
"..."
"..with you." Sasuke finished.
"Huh?"
"Your not alone in this world, and you know that."
Naruto was surprised at this, but smiled at the sudden kindness in Sasuke. He grinned evilly, and laughed. Sasuke looked at him, or at least where he was.
"Where did Naruto go?"
"Above." Naruto said from a tree limb just over Sasuke. He was upside-down on the limb, smiling.
Sasuke shook his head, Showoff.
Naruto moved so he'd be sitting cross-legged on the branch, but he slipped and fell. Sasuke saw this at just the right moment, and caught Naruto in his arms (bridal style).
Surprised, Naruto froze in Sasukes' arms. Then he looked up into Sasukes' deep black eyes, and kissed him on the cheek.
"Thank you." He said and nuzzled against Sasukes' chest.
Sasuke smiled and sat back down against the tree.
"Welcome."
