Red Hots

Friday night Jade arrived at Beck's house around 8p. She was nervous and scared and a little happy. She had wanted to make up for the whole canned lemonade and she felt like she may have. She ranged Beck's doorbell. He answered the door.
'Jade. What are you doing here?'
She pushed past him and made her way into his place and turned to face him. He closed the door and looked at her.
'Jade?'
She turned around. 'I know we made up and things have been good but I wanted to give you a proper gift.'
'Jade you didn't . . . .'
She cut him off. 'I wanted too.'
She reached into her Gears Of War backpack and pulled out a small candy box and handed it to him. Beck looked at the box.
'How is Red Hots better than canned lemonade?'
'It's not Red Hots its the only box I could find. Just open it.'
Beck opened the box and spilled the contents onto his hand. It was a necklace. Or it was suppose to be.
'Remember we went on that tandem bike ride.'
'Yea, one of the tires blew and we ended wrecking the bike. The owner wanted us to pay for the damages and you tried to strangle him.'
'Yea, well he should have checked his bikes more often. Anyway, I went back to the place and talked to the guy and he gave me the nuts off the bike we wrecked. I painted them gold and used black string to tie it together.' She pulled out the one she was wearing from under her shirt. 'Do you like it?'
'I love it.' He closed the distance between them and kissed her. 'Put it on for me?'
Jade placed the necklace over his head. 'I'll never take it off.'
'You better not.' She playfully punched him in the arm.
