Rumpleteazer had tried to avoid the subject. Even a single mention of his name made her burst into tears.
"So Teaz," Etcetera purred. "How'd your date with Tugger go?"
Teazer immediately burst into tears. Etcetera's light blue eyes widened.
"W-what happened?"
"He stood me up," Teazer whimpered. "H-he didn't sh-show up. I headed back to me an' Jer's den a-and," she sobbed for a moment before continuing. "I-I saw him k-kissing Bomba!"
Electra gasped. Victoria gave her a sympathetic look. Jemima threw her arms around her friend. Teazer pushed her friend away as Tugger walked by. Teazer stood up defiantly and stood in his way. He flashed her a killer smile.
"Hey Tea. Sorry about last night. I had something to do."
He took a step back when Teazer started fuming.
"Don't hurt him!" Etcetera shrieked.
Teazer shook her head and glared at Tugger.

Tugger backed up as Teazer started towards him menacingly. Everyone in the Junkyard was staring now, listening to Teazer sing.

She paused for a minute, taking deep breathes. Tugger saw this as an opportunity to gain back some of his dignity in front of the Tribe. He walked towards Teazer, arms wide open.
"Come on Teaz," he purred. "You know you're not really mad."
She smiled sweetly and stomped on his foot, hard. He hopped backwards, howling and holding his throbbing foot. Some of the Queens cheered, having had their own hearts broken by Tugger at one time or another. Tugger and the rest of the Jellicles listened in awe as she continued.

His yellow eyes were wide and frightened. No Queen had ever treated him like this! He was The Rum Tum Tugger! Yet, this tiger tabby was up in his face, telling him that she hated him! All because he'd been out with Bomba when he was supposed to be with some kitten. She glared at him.

When she finished, there was a silence even bigger than Tugger's ego. Everyone just stared. Teazer ended the silence by drawing back her paw in a fist, and punching Tugger square in the nose. She grinned cheekily.
"Tell Bomba I said hi," she purred, and strolled off, satisfied.
Munkustrap looked around, as stunned as anyone.
"Okay," he announced. "It's official. Tugger will never make a date with a kitten. Ever again."
