Jade West drove home in terrible weather. There was a severe weather report out. They said not to drive. She did anyways.
She couldn't see the road and ended up flipping her car off the road.
Dead within seconds of the impact. That's what they reported.
No one saw what happened, no one knew till the storm stopped, 3 hours later.
Cat was at school when she got the news.
She had a meltdown in front of everyone.
In the middle of the school hallway.
Beck, Andre, Tori, and Robbie tried to get her to tell them.
Finally she did.
Everyone had heard what she said.
They turned to look at Beck.
His face wore pure shock for a split second before going to an aloof expression.
Cat goes back to crying in the middle of the hallway.
Lane collected the five friends of Jade West.
He asked them how they are doing.
Cat is still crying, Tori looked shocked, Andre frowned, Robbie was looking down, and Beck still held his aloof expression.
Lane explained that her car flipped and she hit her head on the windshield. She was cut up badly.
Beck finally let one lone tear run down his face.
He wished that Jade was there to comfort him.
The way he was when her grandmother died.
They go to her funeral.
The body so broken they can't display it.
They just have pictures.
Of her, or her and her friends, of her parents and her (even though she doesn't look happy in those), they have the picture of her and Beck on the day of their first year anniversary.
The only one she looks remotely happy in.
Her parents give a speech about her.
Her mother and father both look a little sad about their daughter's death.
Cat gave a beautiful speech.
She explained that Jade saved her from mean bullies when she was in kindergarten.
She said that Jade really had a soft side but only let certain people see it.
Andre said a few words about her.
Robbie explained that she hated Rex and then laid him down next to him never to use him again.
Tori said how Jade acted like she hated her.
Finally Beck got up to speak about his girl.
He said the most wonderful things about her. Her parents sat in the front row with looks of absolute unbelieving etched into their faces.
This caused him to glare at them for the rest of the speech.
The friends gathered around the gravestone after she was laid.
Each person handled her death different ways.
Cat never wanted to speak.
Robbie set Rex up in his room and never touched him again.
Andre changed his music to sad songs.
Tori sang those sad songs.
Beck held his aloof expression at school and at home cried to himself.
