My second one-shot. First One Tree Hill. Hope you guys like it. Tell me what you think.

Brooke Davis- Frightened
"Hello?" The person on the other line said groggily.
"Oh, Karen, I'm so sorry I wasn't thinking about the time difference. I'll call you later," Brooke said ready to hang up.
"Wait, Brooke. What's wrong?"
"I guess I just needed to talk to someone that isn't so close to the situation."
"Is this about Julian?" Karen asked knowingly.
"How'd you know?"
"I'm still in contact with everyone back home, Brooke." Karen answered. "So what do you need to talk about?" Brooke heard what sounded like Karen getting up from her bed and walking around.
"I just don't know what to do, Karen. I'm so confused."
"Well, let's start by answering this: what do you want, Brooke Davis?"
"I want Julian." Brooke answered.
"Do you love him?"
"Yes." Brooke answered quickly.
"So what's stopping you? Why are you still in Tree Hill when he's in LA?"
"I don't know. I guess I'm just wondering what happens if I go to him in LA and it doesn't work out. What am I suppose to do?"
"Brooke, you have to open your heart to him and stop thinking of what ifs that may never happen in the first place. What if you go to him and it's the best thing to ever happen to you? What if you guys get married and have the life you've always wanted? There's probably more of a chance of you getting your happily ever after if you guys truly love each other. Just open your heart, Brooke."
"What if I can't do that?"
"Then you'll never truly be happy." Karen resolved
"But Karen, my track record on opening my heart isn't very good. All that comes from me opening my heart is heartbreak."
"Listen to me, and listen to me good, Brooke Davis. You cannot let what happened with Lucas years ago prevent you from having love in your life. High school is supposed to be a learning experience, it shouldn't define who you are going to be, and you're letting it do that. While I understand all of what happened with Lucas and that you really loved him, you gave up on love because of him. You locked your heart away in a dungeon for repairs and never brought it out again. It's time to let it out. It's ready to come out. The fact that you are struggling with this tells me, and should tell you that." Karen finished.
Brooke sighed through the phone. "I just don't want to get hurt again."
"It's okay to be scared, Brooke. Love is a scary thing. Just don't let that fear control you."
"You're right, as always. Thank you, Karen."
"I'm glad I could help. So what is Brooke Davis going to do?"
"I'm going to get my man."
"I'm glad to hear it. Now get off the phone with me and go get your happily ever after." Karen said with a laugh.
"I will. Thank you so much."
"You're welcome. Let me know how everything turns out."
"I will. Bye."
"Bye, Brooke." The two women disconnected the call. One glad that she could be of assistance and the other glad that she called the right person.
