Harper couldn't help but let out a pained scream as she watched Sirius fall back towards the veil, his eyes wide with shock as if he couldn't believe what was happening to him, but she knew that he was glad it was him and not her going through the whispering doorway. Before she knew it, Harper was running towards him, dodging hands that reached out to grab her, didn't they know? Sirius was the only person she had left, just as she was one of the only people he had left and Harper would be damned to let him go without some kind of fight.

"Harper, don't!" It was like everything was going through a slow-motion replay, Sirius was watching her race towards him while trying to stop her in his own way. She shook her head, tears threatening to leave her bright emerald eyes as she ran with all her might.

"I... got you!" She wrapped her bony arms around him and threw him away from the archway. Harper watched as he landed in Professor Lupin's arms, however, gravity was a vengeful thing and before she knew it, Harper had been taken away from her family.

She didn't feel sad though, somehow she knew that it would be okay. That her friends and family would take care of Voldemort and the rest of the Wizarding World, that her godfather, while feeling guilty over her untimely end, would pull himself together and finally propose to Remus, and without a doubt, Harper knew that this was supposed to be her time. She knew it like she knew the back of her hand, and she knew it pretty good since she took successful divination classes.

"Harper! No!" And with those final words, everything went black and Harper smiled. She was ready to die for someone she loved.

She felt weird, and it wasn't weird like talking to your friends, thinking you were telling them something funny but nobody laughed. It was weird... like being squished in all the wrong places, like being pushed out by the walls surrounding you, like being suffocated.

Harper tried opening her eyes but they were shut tight, not moving an inch when she struggled with them. Something was happening to her, something so awful and horrible that it distressed her so much to the point of crying. And cry she did, Harper let loose a wail that sounded so much like a newborn baby and that's when the once teenager knew what had happened to her.

But she wasn't bothered by it, not when she was finally able to open her eyes. She got to see her mother, a beautiful woman panting with exhaustion but she was happy, in fact, she was so overjoyed that she couldn't get a silly smile off of her face, and what seemed like another baby in the hands of a nurse.

"Twins, Mrs. McCall." The voice was slightly distorted, causing Harper to jump, however well her newborn body could jump.

"Where is he?" The woman smiled at her and her brother, however, the look was brought down by the weariness in the woman's body.

"He... he hasn't arrived." It was the doctor's voice again, obviously, he knew who Harper's new Mum was talking about. As her newborn eyes took in everything and everyone in the room she noticed the lack of male beside the hospital bed, a place usually reserved for the father.

"He would be at work then, I'll have to pick the names myself," Mum, as Harper would now call her because that's what she was, sat up, grunting in pain as she did, "I already knew about Scott but you were a bit of a surprise..." Harper felt a finger run over her clenched fist and she blinked owlishly at her mother. She had such a strong urge to grab one of those fingers and put it in her mouth but before she could have the chance her mum pulled the hand away as if knowing what she was thinking.

Before she had any more time to contemplate her all-knowing mother her ears popped causing a yelp to be startled out of her. Harper supposed it was her magic that caused her to be able to see and hear much more easily than any other newborn, she theorized that her magic accelerated the growth of her sight and hearing because she had already grown up to an age where she could use hearing and seeing effectively. It was also possible that they had accelerated growth because she was an older soul and thus already had the ability to hear and see.

After she yelped she was put into his mother's arms who soothed her with just a single smile, however tired it may look. Harper looked around for her brother, Scott, wanting to know where he was and if he was okay if Harper had the first hug with their mother. When Harper finally found her brother, he was in a hospitalized crib sleeping away as if he had just pushed out two babies, the crib was on wheels which were locked to stop any movement.

Her mum looked over to where her eyes where rested and stared at her son through the clear plastic, "Don't worry," Harper's eyes were brought back to the tired woman as she laid against the stack of pillows behind her, "I'm sure he'll be difficult to manage in the future. But what about you? Only just born and you're already giving me trouble, I don't have a baby name for you!"

Harper started to feel guilty until she saw that grin, that happy, smiley grin. Her mum was happy she was born, was happy that she existed even if she didn't know about Harper to begin with.

"I think I'll call you... Harmony."
