"Learning to Forget"
By Faithx5452
There's a saying that only fools fall in love.
If that was true, then Bianca Montgomery felt like the biggest fool in the world. She was a fool who happened to be in love with her best friend, her best straight friend to be exact.
And being the fool she realized now she was, she had acted foolishly by risking they're friendship by revealing her feelings for the other girl.
She thought she read all the signals correctly; by she had been badly mistaken. Hell, she might have been trying to translate some sort of Egyptian code because with a girl like Maggie Stone, everyone was left wondering whose Maggie heart belonged to.
Bianca had thought and hoped that she would be the one. That she would be the one to hold the key to Ms Stone's heart. She was wrong about that one too.
Maggie had shown mercy on her by letting Bianca down gently, but Bianca couldn't help but wonder what had been going through Maggie's head that day. Maggie hadn't shown any disgust or anger at Bianca's admission; it was almost like she had expected Bianca to say what she did.
Maggie seemed to have forgotten about Bianca's admission of love to her at the boathouse, and in time Bianca too had pushed the memory away. Opting to forget that day had ever existed, but deep down Bianca knew it had. That despite everything Maggie had said, it had changed everything between them.
Lena had been both an answered prayer and another harsh lesson in love. Bianca thought she could finally move on, until she learned that Lena had been working alongside Michael Cambias. The monster that had hurt her sister, raped her mother, and eventually became her rapist as well.
She had never blamed anyone but Michael Cambias for the rape, the blame lay only on his head alone and she had assured Lena that she had no doing for what happened that god-awful night.
The Russian had been so in love with Bianca that she had admitted to attempting suicide as a way to rid Bianca of anymore baggage the Russian may bestow upon her shoulders.
Ever since Lena had learned about Bianca's wish to continue with her pregnancy, Lena had stood beside Bianca as a constant reminder of how much she loved the young woman.
Maggie had also stood by her side, though the shorter girl began acting almost out of character since Christmas. Letting her dislike and mistrust for Lena be well known to Bianca.
Bianca thought she had seen a glimpse of something in Maggie's eyes whenever Lena was in the vicinity, but Bianca would shake her head; believing that she was thinking foolish things. Her heart had misled her before; she was determined to not let that happen again.
Having given into the notion that Maggie could or would never love her the way she wanted her to, Bianca found herself comforting her broken heart amidst Lena's affections. She knew it was wrong, to use Lena's feelings to just soothe her own broken heart. But ultimately she knew she had to. For both her and Maggie's sake.
She could do this.
She could learn to love Lena…
…and forget about Maggie Stone.
