Roxas drummed his fingers against the polished wood as he waited for Axel. It was their anniversary and Axel promised to try to get off work early. It had been an hour after Axel had normally got off of work.
Roxas picked at his food that was getting. He pushed his plate away, sighing. He wanted to cry. Now. It hurt to know that Axel wasn't there, he sobbed, the pain building up in his chest. He got up, wiping at his eyes, fed up. He stumbled into the office, grabbing a piece of paper and a pen.
He wrote:
Dear Axel,
I'm tried of waiting for you night after night. It's getting old. I love you but I don't think you love me back. I've waited and put up with it for three years. You don't even show up for dinner that up promised to come to. It's a little late if you want to say sorry. I don't think you do, even after reading this. I love you, I wanted to have a life with you, but I guess we weren't on the same page.
As you read this, I'll probably be dead. I'm going to go to the Twilight Tower and jump; I'll jump for you babe. I'll be waiting for you in heaven, maybe then you'll understand.
I love you,
Roxas
Roxas folded the paper, putting Axel's name on the front and set it on the dinning room table. He sighed, walking out the front door. He hopped in his car and drove towards the train station, crying silently the whole way there.
Axel pulled into the driveway, noting that Roxas' car was gone. He shrugged it off, thinking the blond parked it in the garage. He hopped out, walking up to the front door. He pushed it open, calling out cheerily, "Roxy, I'm home!"
No answer.
Axel frowned, setting the roses and card down, calling again, "Roxas?" He walked into the dinning room, laying his eyes on the folded piece of paper with his name written on it.
Roxas parked his car, staring up at the tower, praying that the fall would kill him instantly and insure no pain. He unbuckled and got out slowly, swaying a little. His legs felt like jelly from his nervousness. He started his walk to the top of the tower, trying to calm himself.
Axel gasped when he read the note, wasting no time to get outside and into his car. He cursed as he started the car, speeding out of the driveway. He weaved in and out of traffic, going as fast as possible.
Roxas stood on the edge of the ledge, shaking. It was cold and he had taken off his shoes, jackets, and his accessories to the side. He looked down, suddenly scared of dieing. He slowly moved closer to the edge, his toes hanging off the edge.
Axel cursed when he got stuck behind a crash, sitting in a long line of cars, waiting.
Roxas closed his eyes, leaning towards the open air. He scooted closer, half of his feet hanging of now.
Axel sighed angrily, as soon as the line moved, he was speeding off in the opposite lane, avoiding oncoming cars.
Roxas smiled gently as he fell of the side of the building, gracefully.
Axel glanced at the accident on the other side of the road. In an instant, headlights were blinding him, then darkness.
People rushed to Roxas, who was lying limp on the ground. One person dialed 911, another was screaming for someone to help, another was crying.
Axel's car was smashed underneath the eighteen-wheeler. Even the Jaws of Life couldn't tear away the twisted and warped metal from where Axel was crushed.
The paramedics put Roxas in a neck brace, limiting his movement. They mumbled between themselves, saying he was sure to die with the next few minutes from internal bleeding. There was no hope for the blond boy.
Axel died before he could be reached, a peaceful smile on his face.
Roxas smiled as he whispered in his last breath, "I love you, Axel."
Jesus christ, there's no way to say how sorry I am for being gone. I haven't had movitativation to write so I just didn't. I got bored and was listen to P!nk's song Sober and thought of this. I was crying to whole way through as I wrote it. I think it turned out half decent.
