After reading so much fluff, reading angst and tragedy just wasn't enough. So I decided to write my own tragedy, and I must say: it really helped. BTW Toph can see.
I own neither A: TLA nor "Cancer" by MCR
Four teens stepped inside the local CTC (Cancer Treatment Center). Two of them were boys and the others were girls (A/N: I'm not into what people consider "style" so bear with me okay). One boy wore a beanie with a blue arrow on it, an orange shirt, blue slacks, and black mid tops with an orange lace around the side. The other boy was dark-skinned with a ponytail that wore a blue jacket, blue jeans, and blue sneakers. One of the girls also wore all blue from her shirt to her shoes. The final teen wore a black visor beanie, a green T-shirt with a broken heart on it, green khakis, and green skater shoes. They all walked up to the nurse at the front desk.
"We're here to see Terin Akirai." The skater girl told the nurse in front of him.
"Room 313 second floor" she responded without looking at her.
"Thanks." The girl replied. The nurse just grunted.
They all entered the elevator all lost in their own minds. When the door opened they headed for Terin's room. After a brief walk they finally reached the door to his room.
The girl sighed and opened the door. There she saw a boy in his teens lying in a bed with a tube in his nose connected to an oxygen tank at his side. The boy noticed them and said
"Turn away"
They didn't though so Terin decided to make the best of it. "Sokka," he started.
"If you could get me a drink of water
'Cause my lips a chapped and faded"
Sokka nodded and left the room.
Terin then turned to the girl in blue and the other boy. "Aang. Katara." He started,
"Call my Aunt Marie
Help her gather all my things
And bury me in all my favorite colors
My sisters and my brothers, still"
Aang and Katara nodded and left the room.
This just left Terin and the skater girl. She walked up to him to lean into a kiss, but he turned his head. "Toph," he started,
"I will not kiss you."
She stood up again and asked why. Terin turned his head towards her.
'Cause the hardest part of this
Is leaving you."
This caught her by surprise.
"Now turn away
'Cause I'm awful just to see
"Cause all my hair's abandoned all my body
Oh, my agony
Know that I will never marryBaby, I'm still soggy from the chemo"
She interrupted him and said "If you weren't already in the hospital, I'd put you here for calling me baby." Terin laughed, but then coughed. They both went serious again and he continued,
"But counting down the days to go."
He sighed,
"It just ain't living."
He held out his hand to which she took.
And I just hope you know
That if you say (if you say)
Goodbye today (goodbye today)
I'd ask you to be true ('Cause I'd ask you to be true)
'Cause the hardest part of this
Is leaving you
Just then Sokka came back in with a cup of water with a straw in it and helped Terin drink it. Which he did very quickly.
A nurse knocked on the door, "Excuse me," she began, "visiting hours are over." Sokka and Toph nodded as the nurse left the doorway. Toph turned toward him "Same time tomorrow?"
Terin smiled faintly. "Yeah" he said as he slowly closed his eyes.
Sokka left the room as Toph looked back at Terin. "Goodbyes Terin", she said right before turning off the lights.
A few days later
It was raining on that cold, sad morning. Everyone dressed in black to suit to mood. Toph hid her face with her hat the entire time. She didn't like wearing dresses, but in this case she made an exception. When everyone else left she just stood there motionless. She didn't cry, she couldn't cry. She finally broke the dead silence around her. "Goodbye Terin." She said as she walked away from his grave.
'Cause the hardest part of this
Is leaving you
Please R and R.
