A/N I've been toying with this idea in my head for a while and decided to
try it out. It's another 'kids into Me' thing, but I've tried to make it a
bit different.
Emma stood in front of her bookshelf, staring at the rows of books untidily stacked, placed, and thrown on it. She had already read them all, and wasn't particularly interested in any of them. She threw a glance out her window. It was a very nice summer day.
"Oh for god's sake just call Seb." She muttered to herself. As if answering her prayer the phone rang. Jumping up she ran and, taking a quick look at the caller ID picked up.
"It's about time!" Emma almost yelled into the phone.
Her best friend's voice came back. "Ok....uh...bike ride?"
"Meet ya at the normal place. And try to get Cam."
"Right then. Meet you there."
She put down the phone and ran back to her room. It was in it's usual state of complete messiness, but her backpack was easy enough to find. Then a few other things, to use for level 3 RPG's like they usually played.
Back to the kitchen, grab food, grab hat, jump on bike, and ride away.
Their usual meeting place wasn't very far away. Right off the bike path there was a slight incline which led into a lakeshore. In front of the shore there was a steep drop, and trees hung out over it, their trunks curling up to meet the sky as they went.
Emma got there before her friend, and sat leaning against a tree. After a short time she saw two bikes moving rather unsteadily down the path. Looks like Cam could make it, she thought to herself.
Before long the two shapes could be made out as Cam and Seb. Seb's dirty blond hair could be seen from a fairly long distance, and Cam was fairly obvious not matter what. As they approached she stood and called out, "You're late."
"Sure." Cam said. "Now lets go."
The three friends rode off down the path, eventually coming to a parking lot. They rode into the parking lot, but instead of going towards the building it belonged to they turned onto a path leading into the woods.
Emma's bike rattled as she turned the corners on the familiar dirt path, a grin appearing on her face when they got to the lake. It was the same lake that the bike path opened onto, just a different bank. They dropped their bikes on the grassy bank, and set off to explore.
"So what do you want to do?" Emma asked as she led the way along a narrow steep path along the lake.
"Play an RPG. Think of something Sebtabulous!" Cam replied.
"He isn't Sebtabulous right now. We'd need Tadward for that. Speaking of which how did you ditch him?" She asked, turning to Seb.
"Told him I was going to Jeff's and left before he was ready. I was out of sight by the time he left I think." Seb answered with a grin. They usually tried to find ways to get rid of Seb's twin brother Tad. "But as for a game- "
As he spoke Emma and Cam were walking on ahead, but before he could finish his sentence the girl felt her feet fly out from under her and before she knew what was happening she was tumbling down a steep slope before falling headfirst into the lake. The last thing she saw was a large branch headed towards her head before darkness took her.
