The 4th Grade Science Fair Project Gone Totally Wrong
Chapter 1: Experiment #1? No Way!
"MIIIIIIINAA!!!" 10-year-old Serena wailed, latching on to her best friend. Mina sighed then looked at what Serena was wailing about this time. Her eyes widened, this was serious. Their science fair project, or at least part of it, was in the oven, and somehow the stove had caught on fire.
"SERENA! WHAT DID YOU DO THIS TIME??" she yelled, dousing the fire with bowls of water. Serena sniffled.
"I didn't do anything, honest!" Serena wailed. "I was just putting the mixing bowl into the sink, and when I turned around, it was on fire!!!!" By now, Mina had gingerly pulled the still bubbling pan of brownies out. She frowned when she saw the bubbles.
"SERE, YOU STUPID!!" she yelled. "YOU PUT BAKING SODA IN IT!!!" she sighed and dumped the entire pan in the garbage. "Didn't you learn from the volcano last year??!!" she exclaimed, shaking her head so hard that long strands of her blonde hair fell out of her ponytail. The year before they had done an active volcano, but instead of putting a little baking soda in it, Serena had put the whole box of baking soda in. Needless to say, they were expelled from school for a month and grounded for two months for destroying the auditorium stage. Serena giggled at the memory.
"Well, we didn't have to go to school for a whole month," she offered. Mina glared at her and said two words:
"2 months." They stared at each for a moment then cracked up.
"That was sooooooo funny, wasn't it?" Serena gasped. Mina nodded, then pulled a checklist out of her backpack and crossed the first one out.
"Guess project #1 bombed," she sighed. "Well, we'll have to try number 2!"
"Lunchtime!" Serena exclaimed happily. "Whatcha got today, Lita?" she asked, grabbing the food out of Lita's hands so fast that it seemed that the food had transported.
"Fruit, sandwiches and chocolate," she said aloud, staring in amazement as Serena gobbled all the food up.
"So, what are you guys doing for your project?" Serena mumbled through a mouthful of bread. Lita, Amy and Raye stared at her, their eyes blank. Mina laughed lightly.
"She said, what are you guys doing for your project?" she repeated.
"What will happen to a simple recipe if I add baking soda to it."
"Can people actually see the future using ESP and a huge fire."
"How does the entire math system actually work." The three girls rattled off. Serena pouted.
"No fair! You guys know what you're going to do, but Mina and I don't know!!!" she wailed. Mina covered her ears and screeched,
"DIRECTOR!!!!!"
CUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Serena!" Hoshiko cried. "It says here and here to NOT WAIL THAT LOUD!!"
"Oh." Serena blinked and shrugged. "Let's just do it over again, then." Hoshiko sighed.
"Not enough time. We'll just have to pick up next chapter next time. Thanks to you."
ERGH!!! This one is really bad!! Sorry, but I stared reading fu metsu no megami's fic, "Movie 1" toward the end…and since I had too many cokes by then..*shrugs* Oh well, the next chapter will be better…..promise!!!!
