A/n: Hey Guys, I know I haven't written in a really long time, but it is Spring Break so I was able to write. So this was inspired by a conversation that I had in my American Literature class one day. We were talking about the definition of a hero. One kid said that being a hero was just a dream, an untouchable and unreachable title. Another kid responded by saying something to the affect of "Oh I dreamt of being a hero last night…" By the time our discussion had finished I had already started writing this. Hope you Like!?!?

~That Silver Ring~

Claire's POV

Yawn… it was Tuesday my late night at dance. I was exhausted by the time I got home and went right up to my room. I was currently shuffling through the songs on my iPod, sitting on my bed. The rain was stopping and the fresh smell of spring was wafting into my room by way of the window. I closed my eyes and laid back on my pillow. After a little while I must have drifted off to sleep, because the next thing I knew I was waking up to someone stumbling in through my window.

"God Quil! You scared the crap out of me." Quil was the only one who ever came in via the window, so I knew it was him, but it still scared me. I pulled my headphones out of my ears in time to hear his sweet laugh.

"Sorry Clairebear, I couldn't sleep." He came over to my bed and sat down next to me. I moved over and snuggled into his warm chest. This behavior wasn't unusual for us; Quil is my best friend, he has always been there for me, since I was two and we met. Now I was sixteen but we were as close as ever, he never treated me like a kid, despite our age difference, and always treated my like an equal.

"You smell good," I told him, "like personified rain." I just had to laugh at how silly that sounded out loud, but it was true, he always smelled like the outdoors. Most of that was due to him being a werewolf, but it did not bother me at all.

"Hahahha thanks?" he answered in a question.

"No it's a good thing, don't worry," I said with a sigh relaxing even more in his arms. "So you said you couldn't sleep," I prompted.

"Yeah, I've been up thinking about this dream I had last night."

"Oh really, what was it about?"

"Well, don't laugh, but I dreamt of being a hero."

"Ahh….Tell me about it." I yawned.

"Okay, so I wasn't like a superhero with tights or anything…" The image of giant six eight Quil in tights, a tight spandex leotard, and cape was exuberantly funny. I couldn't help but to crack up at him, in all his seriousness. Quil looked confused until I shared my mental image, "I told you, not like that," he said through his laughs, playfully pushing my arm. This little gesture sent goose bumps down my arm. "Back to my dream," he started again once we finished laughing. I snuggled into him again, getting comfy before listening to his dream. "Well I wasn't a superhero of anything, but I was just like the hero of this little town I was living in. It was kind of like here on the Res. It was quite and homey, with green everywhere." As Quil talked, I started picturing what he was describing. The town was quaint and beautiful. And he was right, Quil was a hero! Everyone loved him and he returned the love. Even with all the attention, however, he was just typical Quil. I lost track of where the recollection of his dream met my new one, but all was right. I was warm in his arms and slept phenomenally, if only it could be that way every night.

A/n: okay so I know it's a lot of fluff, but I had to write it. Review!! And hope you enjoyed it.
