This is just something to help get my writing gear in shape, so it's definitely not the best quality.
Drabble/Poem
Set after Battle of the Labyrinth and during The Last Olympian
Including: Percy Jackson, Aphrodite, Annabeth Chase, the Oracle of Delphi Mummy, The Oracle of Delphi Spirit, Blackjack, Silena Beauregard, Rachel Dare, Apollo
Her hair, a fiery red, bright and beautiful as the first flame, given to us from the heavens.
His hair, a resolute black, messy enough to annoy even the gods.
Her eyes, a striking green, the storms and energy within them powerful enough to drag you into them and leave you stranded there for eternity.
His eyes, a sea green speaking of war and sadness, beautiful enough to take Her breath away.
Her smile, warm and cheery, inviting you to come to Her and talk to Her.
His smile, crooked and smirking, practically screaming "troublemaker" and "danger"
Yet She can't help but be attracted to him.
But neither can the Other One.
The one with blonde hair, shining as strong as The Sun God's chariot.
The one with gray eyes, a storm always brewing in them, revealing nothing.
The one with a smile rare as a blue moon, only revealed to those the other one trusts.
She doesn't trust The Other One, but He does.
So She accepts The Other One.
But The Other One doesn't accept Her.
She's seen The Other One laughing with Him, and Her heart breaks, knowing that, even if He and She decide to grow old together, The Other One will always be there, a reminder of what She doesn't have, can't have.
The day when He and The Other One go to war breaks something inside Her.
Because She knows that He and The Other One have a bond nothing, no one, can break.
But She still keeps Her hand on His heart.
Because She's jealous, and doesn't want Him to go without knowing how She feels about Him.
So She kisses Him.
She doesn't know what He thinks of it, but thinks it's special, something only She and He share.
But then She realizes that The Other One and He had already done the same.
So Her heart breaks again, shattered into pieces.
Yet She still does nothing, lets The Other One think that She and He are already together.
What's the harm?
But then She sees the Daughter of Aphrodite sacrifice herself to save everyone.
And then She realizes how strong love can be.
So then She makes a choice.
Because She knows that The Other One and He are soulmates; Love herself prophesied that.
She takes His Horse, because She knows that He won't care.
Or, at least, She hopes He won't.
Because if He does care, then He'll try and stop Her.
And She can't bear to see Him again; not until She's finished what She knows She was born to do.
So She leaves with His Horse, and sees the Thing.
The Thing that would finally be free.
She doesn't remember much of the process.
All She knows is that The Thing is no more, and that the Person once inside The Thing is now inside Her.
And then She talks to Him.
And She tells Him everything.
Surprisingly, it doesn't hurt.
Instead, it feels as though Her heart is being mended.
Because deep inside she knew that She didn't love Him; She only liked him.
But The Other One loves Him.
And the Other One deserves Him.
And, who knows?
Maybe one day, She'll come across someone who loves Her back.
Until then, She has to rest in the assurance that She finally saw one of The Other One's smiles.
So, after writing this, I realized it's really confusing, so here's the key:
She, Her: Rachel
The Other One: Annabeth
Him, He: Percy
The Horse: Black Jack
The Thing: The Oracle of Delphi Mummy
The Person: The Spirit of Delphi
Daughter of Aphrodite: Silena
Love: Aphrodite
The Sun God: Apollo
Hopefully that makes more sense.
