Cold wind brushed across the exposed areas of his skin, chilling him to the bone.
He shook it off though, turning to the black-haired teenager beside him.
How many years? How many years have we fought... tried...hated one another?
His thoughts were interrupted as the raven looked back at him, obsidian eyes taking him in.
"The end, huh?"
"Yeah," he replied.
Together they turned back toward the battle before them.
We were enemies...rivals...friends...for so long. And now...after everything...it comes to this.
He took a deep breath, tightening his grip around the kunai.
He didn't want to do this, but it was war.
Nobody ever wanted war.
He stepped forward. There was the bottom of the cliff...there was his future, down among the bloodshed.
"Naruto..."
He paused, turning blue eyes upon the Uchiha.
"Are you sure you can handle this?"
Bloodshed and cruelty were things only he should know. Not this blond angel.
"I'll be fine teme."
He smiled a bit. Same old Naruto...
He watched as the raven took his hand, electricity running up through his arm.
"I'll always be here, dobe. Always by your side."
He nodded, trying not to cry.
As long as Sasuke was here he would be fine. He could be strong.
They brought their eyes forward, closing them as they jumped down into the carnage below.
I'll always be holding onto you, teme. I'll never let go of you...
...Sasuke...
