Micro-ice and D'jok exchanged glances, hoping they weren't in trouble. Maya and Mana-ice had summoned them to a meeting but had refused to tell them what it was about. D'jok racked his brain but couldn't think of anything that he had done that could possibly warrant a telling-off, but from the twitchy expression on Micro-ice's face he could tell that Micro-ice was guilty of something. He knew Micro-ice well enough to know that he would confess whatever it was to D'jok in a short amount of time- Micro-ice had trouble keeping things to himself.
D'jok shifted uncomfortably; he was sitting there on Micro-ice's soft, blue sofa, just hoping that he wouldn't be blamed along with Micro-ice for whatever misdeed had been committed. Sometimes the two of them just got lumped together like that, being best friends like they were. Never mind that Mei had almost split them apart, they would be best friends for life.
Mana-ice came through the door carrying a tray of drinks; lemonade for D'jok and Micro-ice and white wine for her and Maya. Although D'jok and Micro-ice were legally old enough to drink, she still couldn't help but think of them as children, Micro-ice had been her child long before he had been a Galactik Football champion.
Mana-ice passed out the drinks and then went to sit down on the sofa opposite the on that D'jok and Micro-ice were sitting, where Maya was already sitting. There was a small pause before Maya began to talk.
"Listen, boys, we need to ask your permission for something," Maya said. Mana-ice took her hand and squeezed it in support. "We've been well 'dating' for a while now and now we want to take the next step."
D'jok and Micro-ice looked at each other for a second, before looking back at their mothers, waiting for them to ask the question they were going to ask.
"We want to move in together, find a new place for us all to live," Mana-ice said, finally. "Is that okay with you two?"
"Sure, that's great news, Maya!" D'jok replied, genuinely pleased with the idea.
Micro-ice shrugged and said, "Yeah, then we have an excuse for a housewarming party! No confetti though."
He'd had bad experiences with confetti, D'jok remembered, laughing under his breath at the memories.
He was happy that Maya had found someone, it wasn't easy being a single parent, she'd practically given up her life in order to raise D'jok, it was good to see her with someone that gave her as much joy as Mana-ice gave her.
He and Micro-ice were already so close, this was just a formalisation of what they had known all along; that they were brothers.
The End. I know the pairing is a little weird, but hey, it could happen, Maya and Mana-ice are shown as very close friends and neither of them is involved with anyone else (plus this fandom needs more femslash, there's barely any). So yeah, review please!
