"Once, I went to this faraway land, where I met this cute boy in green clothes." I told Ash. "He was amazing! He could shoot stuff out of the sky with his magical boomerang! Too bad Tom Nook doesn't sell magical boomerangs…" I sighed as Ash walked away. Ash never did listen to my stories- he just stopped to listen long enough for the summery of the story if we met somewhere, say, the post office or here at Nookingtons. I fumed to myself about how nobody listened to my stories… Not even my best friend Patty. Everyone thought of me as the annoying gossiper who never told the truth. That wasn't true though! I did tell the truth! Most of the time anyway…

I bought the last few bags of flowers from Nook and headed to my small pink and white house near the edge of the border leading onto the sea. It was nice here- I lived all by myself, unlike Ash. He lived with his cousin Maxwell and his girlfriend Anastasia. I hummed to my self as I dutifully planted the pansies outside my house. I reached inside my pocket and took out my silver watering can. My fingers brushed a small gem at the bottom of my pocket. I took it out and looked at the red gem twinkling in the setting sun. It was the only thing the boy in green had given me. But I cherished it.

I sighed and checked my mailbox, eager to read the messages. I leafed through the letters- a parting letter from Elmer, my HRA score, and a postcard from my brother who lived in Cancun. I sighed, wishing somebody would take me away from this place. Somebody! Anybody! A pelican swooped down from the clouds to my house.

"Oh, hi Pete." I mumbled.

"Hiya Pompom. Just wanted to drop off this urgent letter- from out of town, too!" Pete said.

"Who's it from? Redd? My mom? Elmer?" I guessed eagerly.

"Nope. It's from some boy named…ah what's his name…?" Pete mused as I tore open the letter. On the outside was a castle, with a boy dressed formally in green stood waving. At the top was my name, beautifully written in pink script and underlined.

"How cute!" I squealed. Who could this be from? I studied the front of the letter and at the bottom was a name, prettily written in a formal green script and bolded just enough for it to catch my eyes.

I caught my breath and read the senders name out loud, "Link."
