A/N: Happy Valentine's Day~! I really just wanted an excuse to finally write some Symphonia. I think I didn't write Colette as well as I could have, though.
I do not own Tales of Symphonia.
Colette's heart is thumping painfully in her chest, contracting in strange ways.
She thinks she likes it.
Lloyd is standing there, snow caught in his hair, steaming mugs of hot chocolate (she's gone off coffee) in his hands. She can tell he almost waved when he caught sight of her, white-clan body indistinguishable from the snow, but remembered the drinks in his gloved hands. He settles for yelling her name.
"Colette!" He runs up to her, somehow preventing the chocolate from slopping out over the sides, and presents her one of the mugs with an overly dramatic bow. She giggles, accepts the steaming hot drink, and they continue on with the royal charade for a few more minutes, with lots of bowing, and declarations and such, until they fall on their butts in the snow laughing.
This is why Colette likes Lloyd. He's so reliable. He's there, like he always has been. Colette knows where she stands with Lloyd.
Love is another matter entirely. She's sure that she has loved him her whole entire life, ever since he called her Colette instead of Chosen. But, her heart has never been this...this heavy.
Colette doesn't know what to do. For once, however, she doesn't have to decide herself, and she finally knocks the hot chocolate over when Lloyd grabs her hand.
Her hearts starts gradually getting heavier. If she just peeks, she can see him blushing, cheeks matching his crimson clothes. Of course, she can't speak; her own face is overheating!
She tries to speak, but he interrupts her. "Let's just...stay like this. Okay?"
She squeezes his hand in reply.
The staying thing doesn't last long, and Lloyd is the one who breaks it; he puts an arm around her shoulder, noticing her shivering. Her head presses into his side.
She'd be happy to stay here forever, and let the snow pile on their heads, in their laps. But Emil is alerting them all loudly to the readiness of their food, Tenebrae and Zelos are arguing again, and Raine has thrown several books at everybody in a vain attempt to get them to calm the hell down.
Lloyd pulls her up, meets her eyes. They stand completely still for a few seconds, lips touching lightly.
Her hearts is light now, and she likes this even more. Of course, Sheena will tease her mercilessly for the foreseeable future, but who really cares?
Collette sure doesn't.
Colette and Lloyd are so dorkily adorable. I love 'em.
Reviews are always appreciated! ~Gryfo
