The bullpen was quiet. Only the sounds of three people tapping away at reports broke this near silence - that and the sporadic clicking made by a bored Agent Todd, who was checking her e-mail.
Junk, junk, junk, junk, junk, Tony, junk, wait...Tony?
She hurriedly clicked on the one from her co-worker and read it in seconds. She pressed the button to reply, but decided to take a different tactic.
"Tonight?" she called across the bullpen to Tony. Both he and McGee looked up. He nodded, smiling slightly, and focused again on his work. Kate grinned appreciatively, for she recognized that smile as the elusive Number 50. McGee watched the pair, confused, and shot a questioning look at Kate, who ignored him. Little did he know, Kate and Tony were doing this on purpose. It was rather amusing, seeing McGee confused, especially since he never passed up an opportunity to out-smart them when down in Abby's lab.
An hour later, Kate and Tony both stepped into the elevator to leave. It was a silent ride, until they reached the parking garage.
"My place?" Kate asked.
"Half an hour," Tony replied. "I'll-"
"Bring the ice cream, and I'll-"
"Pick the movie," he finished for her.
"You're ruining my diet," she told him before getting into her car. Tony laughed, that elusive smile Number 50, glowing on his face.
