The Bourne Investigation

Waterloo Station, London, England UK

" I'm Rachel Bennett here at Waterloo station where a shooting took place earlier this afternoon. The victim of the shooting was journalist Simon Ross with The Guardian, he was 34. The suspect of the murder is the international fugitive Jason Bourne who was under surveillance by government agents from the US. The United Kingdom Security Service (MI5) has made a statement saying they will be looking into the murder of the reporter since it does involve someone as dangerous as Jason Bourne. Other operations will be led by the Metropolitan Police, Scotland Yard, MI6, as well as Interpol and the CIA who have been already involved in the case. I am Rachel Bennett with ITV."

Chapter One

Death of A British National

MI5 HQ (Meeting Room), London, England UK

A man sits at the head of a long wooden table with several Security operatives waiting for Section Chief of SIS (Secret Intelligence Service, MI6) to arrive with their best 00 agent to assist them with the matter at hand. "M" the chief of MI6 was now heading down the halls of the Security Service's many stretch of hallways to meet up with the operatives of MI5 and their chief. Today she had with her here her own personal body guard Mitchell and star agent 007. They finally arrive at the meeting room and the operatives inside all stand up. "Well hello M, I hope you didn't have any trouble getting here." she finishes shaking the hand of a younger agent and faces the man in charge "No, I didn't have much trouble at all. As you can see I have brought 007 as you requested in your call." Bond walks over and shakes the mans hand and grabs a seat as well as everyone else in the room, and as Mitchell stands by the by the now closed door. "Now I am sure all of you have heard of the international fugitive and terrorist Jason Bourne. The cousins have been after him for years and have had no luck so far. But now that he has attacked a citizen of the UK on our soil we shall start our own investigation. We can hope that your field operatives like 007 as well my agents from MI5 can do better at chasing Bourne".

Bond readjusts his position in his chair and looks at the chief of MI5 "Well I believe that all of the sections of MI6 as well as myself can assure you we will be ready to take this assignment. I've looked into Bourne before in an intelligence briefing I saw while in the Czech Republic a while back-" The chief interrupts Bond "Well what are you trying to say? Are you saying 007 that you have information about Bourne?" Bond repositions himself once more. "No. What I'm saying is that I read information regarding Bourne a while back, which means it's outdated now. But while reading it I noticed the way he works. How he operates. So knowing this I have discovered another fact." M looks at Bond and starts to speak "Well what is it Bond? What is it you have found out?" Bond smiles. "I know that I can find him and eliminate him with lethal force if necessary. Bourne has a simple system and it's easy to understand. He doesn't usually kill people who are not part of his past. He does kill people who are, and those who become bothersome. Well I believe I can get him before he can get me." The chief and M as well as everyone else in the meeting room all turn to look at Bond and to think about the boast he had just stated about Bourne, then M begins to speak. "Well Bond, if you think you can do it then I'll let you. Just come back alive. Bond smiles. "You know I always do" he gets up, nods at Mitchell and he exits the room.
