A/N: Hey, Flowerstar! Here's another birthday present for you, and I hope you like it!
Starlight and Sand
It was a beautiful night. Not a single cloud was in the sky, and many stars could be seen, along with a crescent moon. Down below, on a beach, waves gently rolled to the shore, crashing against the sand when the water became too shallow. At this time of night, not many humans would come to the beach, no matter how popular it was in the daytime.
However, two humans were indeed here at this hour.
One of them was a man named Blumiere. Timpani, his wife, had fallen asleep next to him. Blumiere was currently using this time to his advantage, as he wanted to make something special for his sweetheart. He worked quickly, and yet he was trying hard to be quiet, as he wanted the gift to be a surprise. Fortunately, what he was doing was usually quiet anyway, so he didn't have much to worry about.
It took a little while, but eventually Blumiere finished the gift. It was a lovely seashell necklace, and Blumiere had polished most of the shells until they were glimmering.
The count smiled. Once his love saw this necklace, he knew she'd be happy.
Smiling, Blumiere gently placed the necklace into the palm of Timpani's hand. He took extra care to make sure it didn't touch the sand just yet. It would be better for Timpani to see the necklace before it got dirty.
A few seconds later, Timpani's eyes fluttered open.
"Blumiere...?" she asked sleepily. It took a little bit for her to register where she was. Once she remembered that she was at the beach (Blumiere had taken her there to watch the sunset), she looked at her hand to see what was there.
"Do you like it?" Blumiere asked.
Timpani picked up the necklace.
"It's beautiful..." she whispered, putting it on.
"I made it just for you," Blumiere replied, putting an arm around her. "I'm glad you like it, amour..."
Before Blumiere knew it, Timpani had her arms around him, and her mouth was on his. He gently returned the kiss, running his fingers through her hair.
When the kiss ended, the count and his wife gazed into each others' eyes.
"Thank you, Blumiere..." Timpani said quietly. "I love you so much..."
"I love you too, Timpani."
The two sat together, watching the stars in the sky.
A/N: Just a sweet little story for one of my friends. I hope you liked it!
