A/N: Hi! I'm mchlljy. After spending almost a year on here just reading stories, I decided to try my hand at it. This is gonna be short oneshot since I'm just testing the waters. I guess you can call this one a team fic since it features more than two characters.

It was a rather slow day in the bullpen as Morgan and Prentiss continued working on their paperwork. Although there was some level of activity going on in their shared workspace, there was one element missing in the somewhat busy atmosphere. Looking up, Morgan noticed that the young genius hadn't arrived to work yet. This was unusual for the young colleague.

"Hey, Prentiss. Know where Reid is by any chance? It's kinda quiet in here."

She looked up from the file in front of her and shrugged. "No idea. I'm guessing traffic maybe."

At that moment, Reid rushed through the glass doors into the bullpen with a brown package in his hands. Without acknowledging the other agents, he went straight to his desk. "It's finally here," he exclaimed as the excitement became evident on his face. As he tore through the package, both agents watched the genius curiously, their paperwork completely forgotten.

"What's here?" Prentiss asked, genuinely interested in whatever was exciting Reid. Although she had been working with the BAU for a while now, Reid antics never ceased to amuse her.

When he finally went through all the packaging, he pulled out the item he had ordered almost a month ago.

"Is that some kind of Rubick's cube?" Morgan asked with apparent confusion. The cube that Reid was holding had 5 rows and columns rather than the standard 3. Shaking his head vigorously, Reid handed him the cube to examine it for himself.

"God, I didn't even know they made Rubick's cubes with more than 3 rows and columns." Prentiss added as Morgan began to mix up the solved cube.

"Oh this is nothing compared some of the other designs that people have come up with for the cube. I've even seen a Rubick's cube in the shape of a pyramid in person. There's even a 7 by 7 cube!" he told her animatedly. Prentiss chuckled at her friend's obvious excitement in the matter.

"Let's see you solve this one, man" Morgan challenged the genius, setting the jumbled cube in front of him.

Reid smiled acceptingly. "Alright then. Hand it over."

Prentiss and Morgan watched Reid in sheer amazement as he quickly turned the numerous rows and columns. In no more than a minute Reid had the cube solved and placed the finished cube back onto his desk.

"I don't even understand...How in the hell were you able to solve it that fast?" Prentiss asked, still in disbelief.

"Oh, it's quite simple really. There are many algorithms that you can use to solve the cube. I just adapted the beginner's algorithm for the 3 by 3 cube to this one, starting with making the big cross on the green side..." He trailed off upon noticing the look of awe and confusion plastered on his friends' faces.

"Like I've said before, there's a lot to hate about you Dr. Reid," Prentiss told him before returning her focus back to the big pile of paperwork in front of her.

Morgan chuckled as Reid smiled sheepishly. Soon after, the two men resumed the paperwork that awaited them.
