This is my first Heroes of Olympus fanfic, so I would really like some reviews on how I did, so I can improve.
Leo wasn't a genius, but he knew that when a gassy witch-turned-polecat was angry at you, it wasn't a good thing. Gale snarled at him, giving Leo a wonderful view of the rodent's very sharp teeth. Leo, however, decided to go on with his plan.
"Don't you dare; don't you even think about it, Valdez", said Hazel, her golden eyes bright with anger.
Leo smiled.
"My apologies Miss. Levesque, but I do believe Illinois Street is mine."
Hazel crumpled back into her seat, and shot him a glare. Beside her, Nico DiAngelo looked as furious as one of Jason's storms. His dark eyes glittered with promises of revenge. They obviously cared very much, that Leo had bought one of their most valuable assets. He triumphantly plucked the desired card from the pile, and added it to his own collection of cards. Down the table, Annabeth and Piper were easily beating the rest of the, while Percy and Jason sweated and adjusted their meager pile of cash.
"Maybe we should give them Illinois Street; we don't really need it" murmured Frank.
"Frank! That's not how you play the game! This is war, and winner takes it all!"
"Yeah well, I don't think Hazel is on Team Leo anymore"
Leo glanced back at the children of Hades, and flinched at their rage-filled expressions. He hastily picked up the dice, and rolled. His heart sank; he would have to land in one of Piper and Annabeth's areas, which was sadly, home to at least two apartments. Piper just grinned, and held out her hand. Leo surrendered, and started to counting out his paper money.
Then a voice cut through the room, sweet and high. It was a small girl, with dark hair cascading down her shoulder, like an inky waterfall. Her eyes were ice-blue, with no pupils.
She held a dainty hand towards Leo.
"I apologize for interrupting, but may I too, play?"
Does anyone know who the mystery goddess is? Review, please.
