Ally, Hazel, and Johnathon moved slowly through the dark forest. They were careful to ensure all of them were moving as quietly as possible for they expected an attack at any moment. The chances of three normal teenage kids surviving for weeks on their own with no money, no transportation, and no adult supervision is about as devastating as it can get for a group of young people. Then again, these weren't normal teenagers. The trio had been traveling together for nearly a month; learning to trust their instincts and each other. Suddenly Ally noticed a light up ahead. The three of them crept towards the source of light with extreme caution, not sure what to expect. As they came closer, two silhouettes came into view. Johnathon stepped back in astonishment. The figures were two girls about 10-13, (definitely no older) squatting by a small fire. Ally calmly stepped into the light of the fire, put down her weapon, and walked towards the girls who, of course, were immediately on their guard but relaxed when they realized she was not a threat. By the time Johnathon, and Hazel came into view and were introduced, they were unafraid and welcomed them to the small circle of flames. Hazel had a brief flashback of back when she had first run away, struggling to make it on her own…until she had met Johnathon and Hazel. She had realized she was not alone, not totally deserted. There were people out there who were like her. She put her arm around the girl who had introduced herself as Abi and said

"Hey, its ok, you're with us now. I promise we're not going to let anybody hurt you any more. You're part of our family now."

Johnathon helped the other girl Phoebe, up.

"Let's move," he said with slight urgency.

"We don't want anyone finding us at night, not here, not now."

Hazel nodded her head in agreement.

"C'mon guys," she said.

"We can get you more clothes at our hideout by tomorrow if we move quickly enough."

So the five of them stamped out the small fire and wandered off into the night.
