Chapter 1:
After Ron and Lavender broke up, Ron was feeling lonely. As much as he wanted to let her go, he still wanted to be with her.
"Ron, are you okay?" Hermione was happy that Ron and Lavender had finally split up.
"I'll be fine. It's just hard getting used to not having Lavender around"
Well, obviously! Anytime they were together their lips were practically super-glued together!
"If you ever need anything, I'll be here for you." Hermione hugged him.
As the days went by, Ron and Hermione started getting closer. With all the time they spent together, Ron felt that he liked Hermione as more than a friend. "What if she doesn't feel the same?" Ron couldn't stand the thought of rejection. He thought that maybe Harry would know what to do.
"Harry, I like this girl, but I don't think that she feels the same way about me."
"Well, there's no harm in asking her Ron. Would you rather spend the rest of your life wondering what if?"
Ron shook his head. He couldn't even imagine Hermione with some other guy.
"You're right. Thanks."
Ron asked Hermione to meet him later that night in the common room. He couldn't believe that he was finally going to work up the courage to tell her how he felt.
"Hi, Ron!"
"Hermione, there's something I wanted to talk to you about." He paused and took a deep breath. "How would you feel of someone you had been friends with for a very long time thought of you as more than a friend?"
"What do you mean?"
"Okay. I'll just say it. Hermione, I love you."
Hermione gave no answer. Ron's heart dropped.
"I knew this was a bad idea. Sorry I bothered you."
Ron started walking towards the boy's dormitory when Hermione grabbed his arm.
"Ron, wait! I love you, too."
Ron gazed longingly into her eyes as he felt his heart skip a beat. He was in pure shock. He pulled her closer and kissed her on the cheek.
"Good night."
