Rain battered down in the alleyway, hissing in it's downpour. Lightning crackled across the sky, illuminating two figures as the bolted through the maze created
by warehouses. They ducked behind some boxes and one lifted up the other's left arm.
"Raiden, we need to get this fixed…"
Raiden flinched, but couldn't pull his arm back. It was shattered.
"No Arashi, not now, just put it in a sling!" Raiden growled through clenched teeth, squeezing his eyes shut in pain. Arashi sighed and took off his back pack,
digging through it and made a makeshift sling of bandages. Raiden clenched his teeth, cringing his tail, then let his shoulders droop, relaxing. Arashi eyed his
brother, worriedly and took out his phone.
"I'm calling Mom…"
Raiden snatched his phone, putting it in his pocket.
"No. Arashi, think! If you told her, think of how worried she'd be!"
Arashi's face paled and he nodded.
"You're right… and she has her own problems right now…"
Raiden sighed and leaned against the box, wincing and shutting his eyes as rain fell on his face, drenching his clothes and dark navy hair. Arashi pulled his
hood up, hiding his blond hair and slouched forward.
"Looks like we got away…" He murmured. Raiden glanced at him and nodded slowly.
"Yep…"
Arashi sighed.
"We can't stay here…"
Raiden glanced at him, nodding.
"I guess you're right… we need to get moving but we need to rest. You've gone two days without sleep, and I've gone one day and night without sleep. We
can't run forever, Arashi."
Arashi scowled, but nodded.
"We'll rest here… but just for tonight…" He muttered, but at the end of the sentence, Raiden bolted to his feet, grabbing his brother with his good arm and
dragged him through the rain. Arashi blinked and glanced behind his shoulder, shuddering when he saw the beast they had been running from earlier. He
picked up the pace, Raiden keeping in pace with him as the two bolted for their lives.
Raiden glanced at Arashi, panting for breath as he slowly started to run out of stamina.
"Arashi, I can't keep running-"
"You're gonna have to Raiden!" Arashi snapped back, panting as well. Raiden flinched at the harshness in his brother's voice, but kept running at full speed,
weaving through the warehouses, pausing at a chain wire fence. He glanced at Arashi and the two began to climb over. Raiden paused at the top and glanced
over his shoulder as the beast charged towards the fence, trampling everything in it's path. He bit his lip and jumped off the fence and followed Arashi into the
forest beyond it.
Raiden glanced at Arashi and hoisted himself up a tree. Arashi blinked.
"Raiden…?"
Raiden glanced down at him.
"The raid will erase our scent. We can sleep in the tree."
Arashi nodded slowly and climbed up the tree after Raiden, resting in a branch above his twin. Raiden used his belt to tie him to the branch and rested his head
on the rough bark, closing his eyes, listening to the beast try sniffing them out, but it was far away. Raiden sighed, relaxing his shoulders and adjusted his
position, trying to fall asleep, grateful when sleep finally came to him.
