What's Right In Front Of You
Scott gazed lovingly at Stella, taking in every inch of her body. Irresistible. Her smile reached her eyes as Stella realised who was looking at her. In the time it took him to realise she had noticed him gazing at her, Scott had visually noted her from head to toe.
From the way she had flicked her hair with her straightners to frame her cheeks, to the studded boots and their matching belt.
He had almost counted the number of safety pins on her necklace, when Scott heard her laugh.
"What are you looking at, Pickett?" She asked, teasingly.
Taking his lip between his teeth for a moment, Scott scratched the back of his head with thought, "I… Um…" 'Your hair looks amazing today.' - No, he could definitely not say that. Even if she was in the same band as him now, and he had officially split up with Mo a couple of months ago; it just could not happen, even if it were just considered a compliment from one friend to another.
Yet, it did.
She laughed, and tucked her hair behind her ear. The attempt failed as her fringe immediately fell back over her face. Scott realised it was an inevitable action, as the remainder of the tucked section fell over her face when she looked down to the floor.
Slowly, her face came up, her eyes locked onto his. They lingered on each other's for a moment.
'Brown?' Why had he never noticed she had brown eyes before?
'He's so handsome…' Stella inwardly groaned, 'but completely off-limits, what kind of a friend would I be if I did that to Mo?'
Every second they lingered in thought about each other, about the band, family and ex-loves was another inch closer to each other, until their lips met...
At that moment, all thoughts of their other band members went out of the window, and all they could think about was focused on who was right in front of them.
