Lavi sighed for about the fifth time that hour. Allen, frustrated by the constant annoyance, finally responded. 'What's up?'

'I was just wondering where Kanda was. I haven't seen him in weeks.' Lavi responded half-heartedly.

'You know he's on a mission in Italy. It's Kanda, Lavi. You don't think he's injured or anything, right? Nothing can stop him.' Allen laughed at the idea of a weak Kanda. Lavi smiled too.

Komui burst into the room. Allen stopped laughing immediately, seeing the look on his face. 'Allen, Lavi. Kanda's finder has returned.' He paused. 'But Kanda hasn't. The finder says he was struck down- by a Noah. We need you two to go recover the Innocence.'

Lavi was shocked. 'Just the Innocence? So... Kanda is....dead?' Lavi questioned the Head of the Science department. 'It would appear so. I'm sorry. Two finders will accompany you to recover the body. You leave in an hour.' Komui stode from the room, and Lavi got up and slammed the door behind him. 'Kanda can't have died! It's impossible! He wouldn't! It's-'

'Lavi!' Allen innterrupted. 'Pull yourself together and get ready. We don't need another Akuma. Expecially if it was Kanda. Get your uniform.' Allen left the room too. Lavi stood from his chair and walked down the corridor to the room he and Bookman shared. Digging through a mountain of newspapers he found his uniform. He pulled on the jacket and zipped it up with an newfound flame in his eyes. He would recover Kanda's Innocence and kill any Noah who tried to stop him. He promised himself.
