It all started out as a normal day; Sakura was out training with Tsunade, Kakashi was busy reading Icha Icha Tactics, and Naruto and Sasuke were roaming around Konoha, seeing as neither of them had anything better to do after training for a good 3 hours. In the blazing sun, Naruto s golden locks beamed, even with the excess sweat, and Sasuke s bangs blew in the slight, though humid, breeze instead of sticking to his face. The pair decided to rest themselves under the shade of a spacious, sheltered tree, much to the Uchiha s dismay. The Prodigy of the Uchiha clan hated showing his weakness, though he completely devastated the warm weather.
Suddenly, and seemingly out of the blue, Naruto chirped out a Hey Sasuke? .Not too abnormal for the blonde, as Sasuke cast his usually dark gaze to him and softly Hn -ed, a sign for him to continue. Do you believe in genies?
Yes, the question was random, but Naruto couldn t help but ask. The young genin was locked on the subject silently for days, he was just dying to know if his rival believed or not. Sasuke looked a bit perplexed, and pursed his lips slightly before giving a short and simple Yes, why?
Naruto grinned at this and glanced at Sasuke with shining sapphire eyes, then looked away just as fast. Because I think that it would be cool if every person had a genie, cause then you could get three wishes from them! He explained, practically bouncing excitedly on the ground.
The raven smirked at this and crossed his arms, leaning back against the tree as he watched Naruto absently. Once the blonde calmed down, he randomly, and not so caringly, asked What would your three wishes be? Sasuke didn t know why he asked, but he felt more curious today, like something was different, or off.
Naruto looked up for a moment, then shrugged. I dunno. I guess my first one would be to be Hokage. It s pretty obvious, He said quickly, grinning wildly as the gears in his minds began to crank. My second .would be to get some more respect from the village. I mean, over the years they ve loosened up a little bit, but they still pick on me .and vandalize my house and stuff like that .so I d like it if I had a little bit more respect He said slowly, a drastic change from his second wish as he slowly looked to Sasuke. He looked back, waiting for Naruto to continue.
When he didn t, the Uchiha sighed and prompted And your third wish? . Naruto brought his knees up to his chest and placed a hand on his chin, thinking deeply about his third wish. He knew what he wanted, but he wanted to see if he could think of something else, so he could avoid telling Sasuke. Unfortunately, he couldn t, and an awkward silence filled the area. well? Sasuke asked again, looking at Naruto with curious eyes.
Naruto met those eyes and looked away again, smiling softly and a blush crossing his cheeks. My third wish . He murmured, closing his eyes as he turned away from Sasuke. He said something quietly, as if under his breath, and of course, Sasuke didn t hear a word.
Usuratonkachi, I can t hear you, the raven said, his eyes still locked on Naruto. An audible sigh was passed, and this time Naruto turned back to Sasuke, his face almost neutral, except for his eyes, which were downcast, and he said My third wish is to be with you for the rest of my life ..
This took Sasuke by much surprise, and he looked at Naruto with rare, wide eyes as he felt his ears burn. Quickly, he regained his composure, and absently scooted closer to Naruto, a defiant smirk on his face as he gently wrapped an arm around Naruto. The blonde just sat there, frozen with panic and anxiety as he watched Sasuke, and his eyes widened immensely when he heard a low voice whisper into his ear.
Your wish has been granted.
