A/N: What's up, welcome to a new fanfic written by yours truly. Yes, it is a Sailor Moon and South Park story. Don't question why I decided to cross these two franchises over. It could be because I wanted to see the South Park characters interact with the world of Sailor Moon while still taken place in the town in Colorado. South Park is my most favorite series next to Yu-Gi-Oh. A few things before you get started with reading this: 1) All of the Sailor Moon characters will be using their DIC and Cloverway dub names because I feel like using them. If you want to read a SM fanfic of mine with the original names, check out 'Sins of the Moon Kingdom'. Also, characters may be OOC; 2) This is rated M because...South Park. There will be language and some suggestive themes and violence but I promise I won't get too out of line like with too much sexual content. After all, I love the characters of SP more than the comedy, which I also love but can't come up with jokes or write a comedic story for crap; 3) There will be a Sailor Earth. She is an OC owned by a friend and, yes, I know all about the Sailor Earth controversy but I still want to use her character; and 4) This is important because it's a trigger for several people, there will be same-sex couples in the series. One of them is a huge boyxboy couple that I refuse not to include, but I'll try to make it not seem forced. If any of these turn you off, turn back now. If you're still here, enjoy, and I promise not to write an author's note again in future chapters unless needed because of how long this introductory one is.
Chapter 1: Rise of a Guardian
One morning in the peaceful mountain town of South Park, Colorado, a teenage girl with blond hair tied up into two buns slept soundly.
"Serena, it's almost eight o'clock. You're going to miss the bus!" The teen's mother called from downstairs.
Serena Tsukino's blue eyes shot open as she awoke in a panic, "Not again!"
"Mom, why didn't you wake me up sooner?" Serena asked, straightening out her uniform in the mirror.
"I did, sweetie, you told me to go away." Her mother with long brown hair said as she read her newspaper.
"Why did you listen to me?" Serena rushed to the front door with her pink backpack.
"Serena, don't forget your lunch." Her mom held up a light pink lunch box decorated with rabbits.
"Can't forget that." Serena snatched the item and once again headed for the door, "Bye mom."
After her daughter left, Ikuko Tsukino looked back at her paper and continued to scroll through a story about a masked hero named Sailor V.
Also shuffling towards the bus stop was an overweight boy with a light blue wool cap with a yellow puffball over his messy, short brown hair.
"Stupid woman, always waking me up to go to dumb school." The boy whined to himself.
He was then stopped in his tracks when his large foot stepped on a cat's tail. The feline's movement caused him to fall over as nearby highschoolers at the bus stop laughed.
"What the hell was that?" The brunet grumbled, adjusting his glasses over his brown eyes. He turned to the black cat licking her tail, "Hey!" He whacked the cat's forehead gently with his yellow gloved fist, "Bad kitty!"
The cat became noticeably angry with that action.
The boy's face suddenly softened, "Hey, did I give you that boo-boo on your forehead?" He referred to the crescent moon marking on the animal's head, "I don't know how I could have made a moon but here you go." The brown haired teen placed a bandage on her bald spot.
"Let it go!" Serena yelled, forcing the boy to drop the cat in shock, "Poor kitty, what did he do to you?" Serena examined the cat who scratched her face in fear, "I'm only trying to help." She winced, finally noticing the plaster the cat was trying to remove, "Oh, you just want this silly ole' bandage taken off."
After Serena removed the object, she admired the crescent-shaped bald spot. The cat quickly jumped out of her arms and ran away.
"Serena, the bus is here," said a boy with curly red hair wearing a lime green earflap hat.
Serena followed the other students onto the bus.
On the bus, Serena sat down next to the redhead with the green hat.
"What's wrong, Serena?" The boy asked.
"Hey, Kyle." Serena sighed, placing a hand on her face where the cat scratched, "I saw Cartman bothering a black stray cat."
She and Kyle both looked to the back of the bus to see the large boy from before reading a raccoon-themed superhero comic book as he sat next to a blond with spiky hair.
"Harming creatures weaker than him is what he does best. You really should let the nurse look at that." Kyle pointed out the wound.
"I'll be fine." She yawned, laying her head on Kyle's shoulder, "Naptime before school."
Kyle smiled at her with a light blush on his face.
In the halls of South Park High, Serena and Kyle met up with a girl with long black hair with purple highlights.
"Good morning, Harmony." Kyle greeted.
"Hey, dude." Harmony smiled at her friends, "Is Serena OK?"
The two noticed Serena glaring at Cartman who walked down the hallway with his posse which included a boy with black hair and a blue hat, another boy with brown hair, a girl with light brown hair, and lastly the blond boy Cartman sat with on the bus.
Cartman pushed a student in his way to the floor as he and his group snickered.
"I swear one of these days that jerk is gonna get what's coming to him." Harmony growled, shaking her fist in annoyance.
Cartman whistled as he passed them, "Hey, chicas, shouldn't you be in the girls' room applying your makeup?" He and his friends, minus the blond, burst into laughter before finally heading for their first period.
"How about I apply my fist to your face, fatass?" Harmony leaned forward, preparing to convert words into action until Serena held her back.
"Violence never solves anything?" Serena said, trying to quell tension.
"Hey, do any of you know what you got on your English test yet?" Kyle asked, placing a relaxing hand on Harmony's shoulder.
"No, but I know I probably failed." Serena sighed, sniffling to prevent tears from escaping.
"Come on, we better get to class before the bell rings." Harmony noted.
In English class, the teacher with long auburn colored hair started to pass out the graded tests to her students.
"I bet you got a perfect score." Harmony playfully told Kyle as she was handed her own test with an eighty-six percent, "Well, that sucks."
"Maybe," Kyle said, leaning against his hand on the desk.
The class turned to Serena when she let out an exaggerated cry upon receiving her test with a score of thirty percent.
"If you don't study more, you're going to fail my class and the ninth grade." Ms. Haruna scolded her. Her expression changed when she handed Kyle his test, "A perfect score again. Good job, Kyle."
"Thanks, Ms. Haruna." He said with a slight frown.
Cartman smirked from his desk by the window, "What a surprise, the Jew got a perfect score on a dumb test."
Kyle and Harmony scowled at him.
"Eric Cartman, please return after school for detention." Ms. Haruna admonished.
"For what?" Cartman gasped.
"Because you continue to disrupt the class and make rude comments," Haruna listed.
"Yeah, and what if I choose not to come back?"
"Do you want me to call your mother?"
Cartman rolled his eye, "Fine, I'll be there, whatever."
Harmony and Kyle tried to hold back their laughter so they wouldn't join him.
During lunch on the quad, Serena ate her boxed lunch while Kyle and Harmony discussed the events that took place earlier that morning.
"I honestly feel like Cartman gets a kick out of what he does to people." Harmony told the redhead with her arms crossed.
"He totally does and what the hell is with that gang of rejects?" Kyle shook his head, "You'd have to be a complete moron to follow him."
"You sure love to talk about me, huh Jew," Cartman announced, walking up to them with his gang.
"What do you want?" Kyle asked, aggravated.
Cartman grabbed him by the collar of his jacket and pulled the redhead closer so that their faces were inches apart, "I'm gonna kick your ass for getting me in trouble again."
"I'd like to see you try." Kyle rebuked, turning his head away to avoid his snide smile.
"Drop him, tubby." Harmony grabbed his wrist tightly causing Cartman to let go.
"You really are some kind of lame when you need a chick to stand up for ya." Cartman retorted, rubbing his wrist before he and his followers laughed and walked away.
"He sure has anger issues," Serena commented after witnessing the confrontation.
"Are you OK?" Harmony asked.
"I'm fine. Let's talk about something else." Kyle shrugged it off, "Hey, did you guys hear about Sailor V?"
"Yeah, I heard she stopped a robbery at the bank last night." Harmony sighed blissfully, looking up at the sky, "She's so cool. I wish I could be a crime fighter like her."
Serena stood in between them, "Hey, she sounds cool. Just one question: Who's Sailor V?"
"Not much is known about her." Kyle explained, "Apparently she is this superhero who goes around town stopping crime."
"I hear she helps the police do their job." Harmony added, "Which makes sense since the cops in this town are the worst."
"I don't envy her all." Serena said, "Stopping bad guys sounds like too much work."
"Then I guess it's a good thing we're just normal teenagers." Kyle chuckled, "Hey, speaking of, you girls wanna hang after school? There's this new coffee shop that just opened."
"Sounds good. I haven't had a good cup in a long time." Harmony said.
"I don't like coffee. Can we go to the mall instead?" Serena inquired.
"They could have some sweets." Kyle and Harmony chimed in a sing-song voice from either side of her.
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Serena cheered.
"We still have more classes, Serena." Harmony reminded.
"Right, then let's get this day over with." Serena marched towards the front entrance as her friends watched with amused stares.
Meanwhile, in a dark underground lair, a woman with long red hair wearing an equally long purple dress was looking into her crystal ball.
"Has anyone found the legendary Silver Crystal?" She asked.
Four men appeared draped in shadows. The one with short blond hair and indigo colored eyes stepped forward.
"While none of us have found the crystal, I can send my youma, Morga, to gather human energy for our great ruler." The man volunteered.
"Yes, but make note, we also need to search for the children with natural elemental powers." The woman told him.
"Yes, my queen, we've been searching the planet for both with no trace of either the crystal or the children." The man bowed, "But I won't fail, Queen Beryl."
"No you won't, Jadeite, because if you do, the consequences will be deadly." Queen Beryl told him coolly.
Jadeite nodded and disappeared from view.
After school, Serena and her friends headed for nearby Tweek Bros. Coffee. When they arrived, they were surprised by the number of people that occupied the store.
"Man, people really like coffee," Kyle said getting in line with Harmony.
"It is cold in South Park, maybe they're just looking for something warm to drink." Harmony said, "Where's Serena?"
Kyle pointed to their aforementioned friend drooling over some donuts.
"Serena, we need to wait in line." Harmony sighed with her palm on her forehead.
After a few minutes, the trio inched closer to the front of the line.
"You really should watch what you take here." A soft voice warned.
"Why?" Serena asked a boy with unruly blond hair.
"Trust me." The boy twitched nervously, pulling on his brown shirt, "Strange things have been happening around here and our coffee is the last thing you should be trying."
"Hey, you're Tweek from our school." Harmony realized.
"Tweek, stop scaring the customers with your conspiracy theories." A man with brown curly hair pleaded from behind the counter.
Tweek grunted while tugging on his hair before walking away.
"Is everyone in this town mad?" Kyle wondered, "Maybe we should listen to him."
"I want a dozen donuts, please," Serena told the employee.
Kyle sighed, "Or not."
The three sat at a table to enjoy their purchases. Kyle noticed a news report on the TV.
"I wonder what's causing the disappearance of children around the world." He said, taking a sip of his coffee.
"Maybe they should come here and take Cartman away." Harmony joked after tasting her mocha.
"They'd probably give him back." Kyle giggled, "What do you think, Serena?"
Serena was preoccupied with stuffing her face full of donuts to pay attention to the conversation.
"Who else but Serena?" Kyle sighed as he gazed lovingly at the happy blonde.
Harmony then grinned.
"Cartman!" Kyle and Harmony both blurted out, laughing at the thought of their pudgy classmate eating more than their friend.
With full stomachs, the teens decided to check out the arcade before heading home.
"They have a new Sailor V game." Kyle noticed the poster on a window, "I want to play it."
"Kyle, we didn't bring that much money with us. Maybe we can come back tomorrow." Harmony deduced.
"Oh right," Kyle rubbed the back of his neck in defeat, "Because we spent it on coffee."
"Serena, are you and your friends going to play some games today?" The blond-haired arcade attendee asked, exiting the building.
"I wish, but we don't have any money." Serena beamed, showing obvious interest in the man, "Maybe next time, Andrew."
"I'll take your word for it." Andrew smiled, "Have a good night." He retreated to the arcade.
"He's such a cutie!" Serena swooned not taking her eyes off Andrew who waved at her from inside.
Kyle scoffed, "Serena, shouldn't we be getting home?"
"Don't be jealous, Kyle." Harmony gleamed.
"Home?" Serena took out her test, "My mom is going to kill me."
She crumpled up the piece of paper and tossed it behind her, not seeing it land on an older boy's head.
"Watch it, bunhead!" The boy exclaimed.
"Sorry," Serena gasped, turning to him.
"Thirty percent?" He looked up from the wrinkled sheet of paper, "Are you stupid or something? Maybe you should try harder next time."
Serena snatched the test from his hands.
"It's not nice to call people stupid." Kyle confronted him, folding his arms over his chest.
"You call Cartman stupid all the time." Harmony clarified.
"This is different, Serena is not stupid." Kyle defended with a blush on his cheek, "She just doesn't pay attention."
Serena grabbed Kyle by the arm and dragged him away from the condescending newcomer.
"See you later, guys." Harmony waved 'goodbye' to her friends.
"You have some strange friends, Harm." The boy remarked.
"Hello, big brother." Harmony simpered.
Serena and Kyle stopped in front of a dark green house.
"Hope your mom doesn't get too pissed," Kyle told Serena from in front of the door.
"I hope to see you at school tomorrow." Serena grimaced, turning to walk off towards her house.
"You'll be fine, Bunny," Kyle said quietly, shaking his head before entering his home.
The bushes by the building proceeded to shake, revealing a black and white cat with a crescent moon bald spot cut in half on his forehead. The feline looked at the house intrigued.
When she returned home, Serena's mother greeted her cheerfully, "You're home late, Serena."
"Sorry, mom." Serena grinned shyly.
"So, how did you do on your English test? Sheila Broflovski called and she told me her son Kyle got a perfect score on his." Ikuko Tsukino told her daughter waving her spatula around.
"Oh yeah," Serena gritted her teeth, "Kyle your mom has a big mouth." She whispered through her teeth.
After a few seconds of rummaging through her dirty backpack, Serena handed her mom the crinkly test.
"Serena!" Ikuko yelled after going over it, "You are grounded, missy!" She slapped Serena's shoulder with her cooking utensil.
"Ow, mom that hurt!" Serena exploded into tears, crying upstairs to her bedroom.
"I wish I had a smarter sister." A little boy enjoined from the kitchen.
"Sammy, don't insult your sister." Ikuko retorted, causing the brunet to flinch.
Back at the coffee shop, Tweek was busy wiping down the tables with the last remaining customers of the day still sitting there.
"Tweek, make sure you clean up and check the money in the register." His father, Richard Tweak, told him nonchalantly as he proceeded through the back door of the shop.
"OK, dad." Tweek frantically did as he was told.
After collecting and counting the money in the machine, he started to sweep the floor. He then noticed that the customers left haven't moved since he checked on them last. As he slowly reached out to touch the person slouched over in the chair, the power in the shop went out, earning a frightened shriek from the blond.
A light cackle soon filled the room. Tweek cautiously turned to see the carrier of the voice and saw a scary woman with grungy brown hair and dark pink skin. Her black eyes staring menacingly at him.
"Mom! Dad!" He called in distress.
"Your parents are locked up at the moment." The monster chortled.
"Tweek, dear, is everything alright?" His mother's voice came from the secured back room.
"Open the door, son." His father directed, trying to turn the knob but to no avail.
Tweek screamed again, pulling on his blond hair in dread.
In her room, Serena finally calmed down from her crying fit after having a snack she hid in her drawers.
"Moms can be so unfair sometimes. It's just a test." She rubbed the spot on her body where her mother hit her, "Homework can wait," Serena yawned, "I need to take a little nap."
As she drifted off, Serena was in a desolate town. She saw a chubby teenage boy wearing a raccoon costume using claws protruding from his knuckles to slash at a monster. She tried to see who the boy was, but was abruptly slashed awake by the black cat from earlier.
"What are you doing here?" Serena asked, hopping out of her bed.
"Serena Tsukino, my name is Luna, and I have been searching for you." The cat told her.
"You talk?" Serena questioned, lowering her head behind the side of the bed.
"Yes, and it's all because you were able to remove that bandage." Luna elaborated, "It was blocking my sensory powers and my speech."
"OK, I know this is a dream. It has to be." Serena slowly stood up.
"You don't believe me huh. OK, I'll prove to you it's real." Luna's crescent moon lit up, creating a golden circular brooch with a half-moon under a pink jewel surrounded by a red, yellow, blue, and green gem on each quadrant.
"Wow! Cool brooch," Serena picked it up and latched it onto the red bow on her shirt.
Luna tried to get her attention but she was too busy admiring her new accessory in the mirror.
"I'm sure you're aware of all the strange occurrences across town." Luna began to explain, jumping onto the desk in front of the mirror, "You can stop these dangerous enemies. As one of the guardians, you must find the others like you, the moon princess, and the ones with natural elemental abilities."
"Uh-huh, I get it." Serena sarcastically said, turning towards her.
"If you believe me, say these words: Moon Prism Power!" Luna advised.
"You got it." Serena raised her hand, "Moon Prism Power!"
Serena transformed with a beam of pink light. Her new outfit consisted of a white leotard with a blue collar that had two white stripes on it, matching skirt and leggings along with a red chest and back bow. She wore white shoulder pads, red knee-high boots with crescent moons on the white borders on the top and white gloves. She was also fitted with a golden tiara with a red gemstone in the center, matching choker with a moon on it, hair clips on her buns, and moon earrings. Finally, the brooch she used to change rested upon her chest bow.
"What just happened?" Serena looked herself over, "How? Luna, what's going on?"
"You have become Sailor Moon," Luna bounced onto the windowsill and looked outside, "There is a boy who needs your help at the coffee shop. You must save him."
"Um, I'll try." Serena swallowed a lump in her throat and chuckled unsure of herself.
"Let me go!" Tweek cried as the monster lady known as Morga gripped his neck tightly. He attempted to punch her long arms with both of his fists but didn't faze her.
"You heard the boy, let him go!" Serena hollered from the entrance, "I am Sailor Moon and in the name of the moon, I'll punish you!" She coerced with a leer.
"You don't scare me." Morga said, "Rise up, those who gave their energy to the Great Ruler and get her!" She commanded the fallen visitors to attack.
They all lunged at her, causing Serena to run to the other end of the shop scared. One of the attackers pushed her onto the floor.
"Oh no! That hurt." Serena looked at her scraped knee.
While Sailor Moon was distracted, Morga continued to choke the life from Tweek. Tweek managed to gain a tight hold on the monster's arms with his hands, emitting a strong heat that caused her to drop him while yowling in pain.
"What the hell was that?" Morga yelped, examining her burned arms, "Where did that little brat go?" She turned her attention to Serena who was surrounded by the possessed customers.
Morga took the opportunity to attack her. Terrified and backed into a corner, Serena let out a screeching cry that stunned the enemies and broke the windows. Tweek snuck a peak from behind the counter.
"Sailor Moon, crying isn't going to solve anything." A young man wearing a black tuxedo, matching top-hat and a white mask disclosed as his reflection could be seen on the broken glass covering the floor, "Don't give up."
Serena ceased her shrilling when she heard his voice.
"Sailor Moon, take your tiara and shout 'Moon Tiara Action'," Luna ordered from under a table.
"Why?" Serena asked, standing up straight.
"Trust me and do it!"
Serena removed the headwear, "Moon Tiara Action!" She then tossed the tiara that turned into a glowing frisbee vaporizing Morga and snapping the people out of her trance as they collapsed on the floor unconscious.
"Well done, Sailor Moon." The tuxedo-clad gentleman said from outside the window, "I am Tuxedo Mask and I will not forget what happened here tonight."
Serena turned to see him smiling at her. He then turned away and vanished seemingly into thin air.
"Where did he go?" Serena scouted for her savior, "He was so hot!"
As she admired her guardian angel, Luna went to check on a traumatized Tweek.
"Are you alright?" She asked. Tweek freaked out over the talking cat and fainted, "Oops, I forgot." The black cat placed a paw over his wrist.
"Luna, you scared him to death!" Serena yelled.
"No, he still has a pulse although sporadic." Luna squinted to study him clearly. He does give off a strong source of energy.
"Tweek, what's going on out there?" His father interrogated from the back room which finally opened after it was supposedly held shut by a dark force.
A few minutes passed before the Park County Police Force arrived at the scene to ask questions. Tweek told the sergeant everything that happened but neither he nor his parents believed him.
"Calm down, Tweek, have some coffee." His father suggested.
Shaking, Tweek let out a frustrated growl.
"We have to look out for him." Luna told Sailor Moon, "He could be one of the other guardians. I sensed a strange power from within him."
"I guess I'll be seeing him a lot more at school," Serena said, beginning to walk home with Luna.
The next day at school, Tweek tried to recount last night's events to a group of his classmates.
"This monster attacked me at the shop, ack!" Tweek twitched during his story, "And then this girl hero calling herself Sailor Moon saved me. It's true!"
"Sure Tweek, I believe you." Harmony said, softly rubbing his back.
"What is in that coffee you drink? Maybe you should lay off it. It's making you paranoid and delusional." Kyle said, scratching his head beneath his hat.
"You gotta believe me!" Tweek continued to stress, "I'm not making it up."
Three of the listeners were a boy with black hair with a blue wool hat donned with a red poof ball, a blond boy wearing an orange parka, and a raven-haired girl with a purple beret.
"I guess it wasn't a dream after all," Serena noted to herself, leaning against a wall away from her conversing classmates.
In the parking lot, a green car drove up to the curb. Eric Cartman vacated the passenger side and hustled to class in a hurry.
"Have a good day, hon." His mother said sweetly.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever, mom." Cartman waved off his mother's affectionate goodbye and entered the schoolyard.
Unbeknownst to him, the black and white cat with the fractured half-moon mark on his head was spying on him.
"I finally found the king." He said to himself.
