Author's note- not very good, but still figured I'd post it. If you have any comments on what you thought of it or how I could improve it, they'd be greatly appreciated. This is written in the viewpoint of Cassandra..

Lament for Troy

By Jules-Gemma

Oh gorgeous city of light,

the lovely enchantress of night,

your walls are broken

it is as I had spoken.

If anyone had believed

of you none would be bereaved,

But now there is smoke on high

fire fills the sky.

Beautiful haven of mine,

city blest as if divine

where else as lovely could I go?

There is no other that I know.

Always will I blame the woman whom I hate,

who brought upon us this cruel fate.

The snake who lay with the fink,

Of lies and deceit, both stink.

O great beacon in land of dark,

lamp of goodness, in place where spark.

How shall I find my way

when you'll never again grace the light of day?

I'm left homeless, lost and alone,

I wail my sorrow, here I am prone.

Lady of love, all that is fair

now I am dragged to the demon's lair.

Where death lies in wait

evil's spawn, full of hate,

but I shall take death in stride

in no corner shall I hide.

An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth

I tell you this, that is the truth.

When revenge gets out of hand

an assassin the gods must brand,

Gods justice will be appeased

all thanks to Orestes.

Mother of mountains and mares,

lady relieving all of our cares

like a phoenix rising out of flame

Rome will bring much honor to Troy's name.

Out of the ashes rises a race

that will change the whole world's face.
